sorry if this topic has been brought up before in the past...but I want to know what everyone thinks about the heavyweight division and whether or not they think Lennox Lewis should stay retired?! and if the sport needs him, like he says it does, why then..doesnt he just come back and save it?

Yes definitley and I'm sure he will.

He's 43, he doesn't need the money, he is a legend and doesn't have anything to prove to anyone.

    Yes he should.

He had a great career and a good legacy, at least as good of a one as he could have based on his opposition.

He should not succumb to the peer pressure and temptation to leave retirement.

yeah, its been brought up about 500 times...... what makes you think he can save anything? lennox looked like crap in his last fight and that was 5 years ago...he would be 44 by the time he got back in the ring...its over johnny...its over

YES lennox should stay retired! lennox lewis cant save the heavyweight division alone!!! it has to sort itself out which will happen but just taking a rather long time, and not great and intresting to see. lennox might be able to bring some, form back to the ring for a couple of fights but, that doesnt make all the other fighters any better and you need a group of decent fighters to make a good division!!!

This has been done several million times on here, but you might not be aware of that so, ok.

My answer is the same as usual, Lennox Lewis should stayed retired. He has absolutely nothing to prove, he had a fantastic career and his legacy is 100% secure. He has also already beaten Vitali once, why would he come back 5 years later to try and beat him again? That would make zero sense.

However, if the money is so big that Lennox simply can't refuse it, and he decides to come back (99.9% not going to happen) and really works hard to get into shape, I would love to see him back and would support him all the way.

I don't think it is ruining his legacy, in the future when we look back on Evander's career, no one is going to remeber his twilight years.

I think people will if it goes much longer he shouldn't be fighting on to the point of getting beat by the likes of Ibragimov

He'd be mad to come back. If he does it is purely for the money and fame.

Lennox had a fantastic career, built a cracking legacy and earned a shedload of money.

The only thing I think bums him a bit is he never really appealed to the public and got the fan adulation in the same sense as a Frank Bruno or Ricky Hatton.
