If that was the case (I can't remember), it would have been pretty difficult for the ref to have spotted it, unless he had a perfect view.

True but Vitali and his fans claimed they were both bigger, Lewis told Vitali he'd already had one look and that was good enough.

There was in fact a meeting of the head before we saw the cut. Lewis forehead and dreadlocks cane into contact with Vitali's eye region.
