Should Lomachenko vs. Walters happen at 126 or 130?

Not long ago, Walters lost his WBA title on the scales and moved up to 130 lbs. Lomachenko, being interested in unifying the division, turned his attention from Walters to the other titlists at 126, but it quickly became apparent that those guys (Santa Cruz, Selby) didn't fancy fighting Lomachenko.

Up to this point, in all of his interviews, Walters has been adamant that he is still able to make 126 lbs limit for the Lomachneko fight. This has made the forum very divided about the fight; many have said that Walters was too big for 126 and that he couldn't make the weight anymore, while others have been claiming that Walters could still make 126, and that Lomachenko should defend his belt against Walters.

Now, it appears that Lomachenko vs. Walters is in play at either 126 or 130.

Since Walters has been very adamant that he could still make 126 lbs comfortably, should this fight happen at 126 or 130?

I'd prefer both men be healthy.

Then the question is, would Walters be healthy at 126?

The ball is in Walter's court- he's not under pressure to make 126 if he can't do it. Loma wants him healthy.

So, whatever weight it gets signed at, will be the right one.

The fight will not be at 126 Walters can't make it. It will have to be at 130 or a catchweight.

In that case, would you rather see Lomachenko permanently moving up to 130 rather that doing a single catchweight fight and then moving back down, considering that Selby, Santa Cruz and Russell (already beaten by Loma) aren't really looking forward to face the Ukrainian?

A non title fight would have a lower purse. I think a 126 title fight is more meaningful for me.

A one time fight for Loma at 130, because Walters will not get any better at 130. Especially if he no longer has Hopkins/Hagler discpline to make 126, Loma problem will not be weight. Loma will have to use all his tools to neutralize Walters 73" reach that he knows how to use effectively, this is not a walk in the park, despite the draw vs Sosa (a real 130 contender)

There's good fights for loma at 126 if they decide to quit ducking him. At 130 he would have good fights to. It really depends how he looks at 130 if the fight is there.

So far the poll seems split.

Walters definitely has the better chance at 130, since he would be able to gain even more weight over Lomachenko than he could if the fight took place 126.

He has been adamant that he is still able to make 126 easily. It seems that team Lomachenko doesn't care whether it is 126 or 130. It will be interesting to see what happens.

It should happen at 126, people claimed that Lomachenko was ducking Walters and that Walters can easily make 126 for this fight. Make it happen at 126.

Walters can't make 126lbs - shame cause there's a belt on the line at 126. Super Feather is fine, it's a good fight, but not a World Championship.

    It's significantly less meaningful.

Agree with this if Walters can make 126 and make it for Loma's belt that would be better. That being said if it's at 130 with no belts involved I would still be amped for the fight.

From what I read in different articles is that the fight will happen at 130 lbs.

130 lbs. because I don't want Lomachenko to stay at featherweight. Gaymon owns all 3 belts, and he has no interest in letting Lomachenko expose another one of his boys.
