I'm certainly not upset with you Mr M, or anyone else who genuinely is interested in delving into this, I'm just one hundred percent convinced of the motive behind the OP. And, believe me that is not out of a genuine desire to discuss Louis challengers no matter which skin colour they happen to have been.

I've said on this forum that Johnson was an **** hole and in many ways he was.He was also a man full of contradictions, tremendously brave, , generous, especially to women, capable of great kindness, and just as capable of mean spirited behaviour, very intelligent ,and articulate,[he conducted his own defence at a hearing in London and made a fool of the authorities,]

MUlti- lingual , an inventor, musician ,author , sports columnist, bull fighter, and actor .
Interesting enough to have over 1400 pages in two volumes written about him in books in print nearly a 70 years after his death.and also have several other biographies about him.

Interesting enough to have three songs written about him, one a suite by the great jazz trumpeter Miles Davis.

Interesting enough to have a WW1 shell named after him.

Interesting enough to have a play and a film written about him.

In short a flawed human being ,but a fascinating one, who was determined to live his life on his own terms no matter the price he paid.
A man who, when last wife Irene Pineau was insensitively asked as she left his fresh grave,"what was it that attracted you to him" replied" I loved him for his courage,he wasn't afraid of anything".

I think that is an epitaph many would aspire to.

Does that satisfy your agenda driven question, which I saw coming before it had even turned the corner into sight.

No, it just makes you a hypocrite.:lol::lol::lol: Tyson is an actor on stage, a sports personality for boxing too. Full of contradictions, lies, and bad behavior.

How can you like one, and not the other with your own " reasons "

Johnson was a wife beater and pimp. Sure he was nice to women....he also said degratory things toward the black women of his time calling then two timers.

The bear trap has snapped shut. You should be crying uncle...best guess is your used to being numb.

13-9 in the poll. As stated take out the name Louis and sub in suppose champion XYZ only fought 2 black men in 26 title defense, and its a landslide indictment.:deal

The black women that Johnson lived with Mary and Clara both two timed him and took off with his money and jewellery,he was quite justified in his comments about them.

You totally miss the point I like Tyson as a fighter ,as a human being I don't. neither him or Ayala.
I don't like rapists and/ or those that have a history of ***ually molesting women against their will, and Tyson victims were being bought off before he ever left D'Amato.
I don't care for Johnson's style of fighting and state he was a flawed man ,[who isn't?]
But he was a fascinating and intruiging character.

You couldn't spring a trap on me if I was asleep ,you have neither the wit, the language skills or the verbal dexterity to inveigle me into any area in which I did not wish to voluntarily go, simply because you are barely literate and unable to articulate an argument or formulate an opinion..
I'm only condescending to explain my position now because it seems to baffle and confuse you so .

I'm content to be in the company of those that voted NO on this thread.

You’re content to ignoring inconvenient facts. The fact that you can't see your own flaws makes it rather funny.

Johnson made far more money on women, then that did on him. His nightclub in Chicago doubled as a *****house.

It's obviously perfectly ok to not like Tyson and like Johnson. Like, that's completely obvious beyond all reasoning.

And even if it's not, it obviously happens. There are lots of people that like one and not the other.

Yes, but if your reason to dislike Tyson was his outside the ring stuff, then the same reasons should apply to Johnson.

Style wise I could see someone liking one, but not the other.

Why? They are different men. They make different overall impressions. I don't hate everyone that exhibits drunkeness in public, but for whatever reasons I see some guys doing it and I just think "what a d1ck." I've known a couple of guys who have killed guys and sometimes it's understandable, sometimes, to some degree, and sometimes it isn't.

This notion you have that you've "sprung a bear trap" on McVey because he likes on pimp he's never met more than another pimp he's ever met is mad.

I've never seen the relevance of a boxers private life as it applies to his sport only in the way that it impacts on his performances.
Robinson several times severely beat his pregnant wife ,a couple of times so badly that she miscarried this was witnessed by his son.
Absolutely despicable behaviour, what has it to do with his ability as a boxer?

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
I firmly believe someone here can't get his head around the fact that Jack Johnson was putting his black dong into white p*ssy and also the rear exit hole! .Unforgiveable Blackness indeed!

ps Started Adam's second volume on Johnson, it's massive and crammed with facts and pics!
