Should Margarito Have Been Disqualified?

    Didn't even warrant a warning

    It was a fast sequence of events, the punch during a sequence where Cotto was leaning against the ropes but not down or ruled down, and the punch did little if any damage

    it would have resulted in cotto receiving a more brutal beatdown. the fight was over. the punhc was not significant.

    I think it definitely warranted a warning. He was clearly on the ground and had been for a noticeable period of time even in the heat of the moment.

    But as you said the punch did little if any damage, it had little effect on the fight so a DQ would have been a travesty.

    nah. im a cotto fan and i say no. margarito worked his ass off to win that fight. i glad they didnt just take it away. def would have been controversial

    No, but the ref should have warned him. That punch did not make much difference...Cotto was already hurt. Like I said before...Miguel Cotto is a class act...he could have complained and pulled a Lorenzo but he has too much pride to do something like that. Being from Mexico, I was rooting for Margo all the way but have nothing but respect and praise for Cotto. I'll pay to see him fight again...
