I know he has been neck and neck with Vazquez, he looked dominant in the first fight. Lost the 2nd after Vazquez put on outstanding pressure, and barely lost the 3rd after Vazquez came on like a freight train in the 12th, but this was of the most dominant bantamweights I have ever seen.

Should Marquez go back to 118? If he can still make the weight I still think he is the best in the world. :good

Personally I would like to see him move back down, at least for a while.

If he can get back to bantamweight, I think he should. He was an ATG there and I still think he'd be the best.

No, I don't think so he just was in the ring with a great fighter also. It can be argued that he is 2-1. I would love to see him fight Ponce

i think he should fight another champ like de leon or caballero, and if he wins a title, fight Vazquez again to unify the superbantanweight division ;)

Nah, JuanMa Lopez will beat De Leon before Marquez gets the chance. I'd rather see him go down in weight where he definitely is the best.

no. no shame in losing to a fighter like israel. he should secure some title from de leon or caballero, or beat up some one like juan ma lopez at 122.

I think Marquez may have already peaked and will slowly decline.

Amazing how 4 pounds makes a big difference, but the same thing happened to Pintor and Zarate when they moved up against Gomez.

Get back down to Bantam and dominate...then retire.

He might beat JuanMa now but thats because he is pretty much green, while rafa has faced the elite comp and fought very competitively. They will probably never fight BTW, I doubt that Juanma's handlers would want to risk a fight with rafa at such an early stage of Juanma's career.

Moving back down won't help his career anymore . . . he might as well take a long rest then fight both Caballero and De Leon who ever is willing then a fourth fight with Vasquez which will be a unification.

I think it might be a good move. Arce is there now, Mijares will eventually go to 118 I'm sure. But he should face De Leon first.

No, he needs to KO brutally Penalosa, Bautista, De Leon, Caballero, and decision Gonzales before retirement.:D

I choose retire or rest for atleast 6 months before training for a new fight. He took the much greater of the beatings in this trilogy and I wouldnt be shocked if Vasquez shot him the those last rounds.

    Hell no man...

Just who the **** gave him that broken nose genius, Marquez thats who, piston jab and hard straight in the first round and was leading in points through the first fight and the second fight. The third fight was a split decision in which Vazquez won by one single point, a close fight that could have gone either way. :deal
