Should Marquez retire while on top?

Depends how much more money he wants/needs. If money is not a deciding factor he should maybe take 1 or 2 farewell fights since he is a freaking 39 years old.

Yes he should go out on top. He proved he was the winner of the rivalry (even though I have it 2-2), he's got no chance against Mayweather and he also look somewhat vulnerable for his future last night. It seemed that he was on his way to a stoppage loss before that punch, so I hope he goes out on top. There's nothing left to prove.

 

Marquez should push for a huge pay day fight, then after that retire.

You also have to realize, very few top athletes retire when still on top, because the change-over to being "just a regular person" is drastic & very hard to deal with.

JMM is a boxer. That's it, that's his entire life. He most likely ENJOYS boxing, and he hasn't been very badly hurt. Why shouldn't he keep going, if he wants to?

He can do what the **** he wants, just please do not call for a Mayweather Rematch, it´s going to bore the hell out of me. He can´t beat him at this point...Garcia, Rios, Bradley all good match ups, but stay the hell away from mayweather.

 

Marquez would ruin this win by fighting and getting easily smashed by Floyd. The odds of another flash KO are too slim. I don't feel this loss really hurts Pacquiao. The greatness of the KO is so well received that it doesnt remove from Pac's greatness, so doing it again isn't needed. The series was amazing and ends with a huge upset (the KO itself) in a great fight. That's enough, and Marquez should retire on the greatest boxing moment in years.

I dig JMM he is the type of fighter I like smart, hope like hell he retires on TOP.

 

If Marquez has the chance to make some huge money, he (quite rightly) will take it.

He's never made the kind of money his talent deserves, so if the opportunity to make an eight-figure payday presents itself, retirement will have to wait.
