I think it might be advisable to hang em' up at this point. He's 39 years old, been knocked out 6 times, and hasn't fought much lately anyway. He spent most of the last 16 months recovering from back surgary and really took a pounding last night. I don't see any real opportunities for him in there anymore.

Better off calling it a career.

Yeah, hang 'em up. He's already achieved the impossible by becoming champion at age 37 after being knocked out of the picture for a long time. He looked slow and vulnerable against Peter, although he did get in a few good right hands and left hooks.

Of course he should. He should have taking the unification fight against Wald or the Vitali fight when he had the opportunity instead of wasting his time with Okhello, it would have been a much bigger payday to end his career. Now he is finished anyway and was screwed out of his money by Don King.

Well, he was a lot slower than before, probably because of the inactivity and injuries, and he's 39. And he was a HW champ yesterday at 39, what a story! Maybe a farewell fight, but I don't see the reason for that...

So yes, he should definitely retire...

Nothing to be ashamed of, those two brutal KOs over Rahman are KOs to remember forever... Don't let the sport retire you, retire yourself!

    Big respect for Oleg!

He accomplished more then anybody would have thought he would. At 39 he has nothing more to proove and his skills are diminishing, it would be bad and came back and lost brutally again. Props to Oleg on a great career :good

Oleg has had an admirable run. There is very little padding on his record. He was thrown to the wolves from the very beginning, got a late start and still managed to salvage what was a pretty good career.

    Yes, no question

He's getting older and slower. If he fought a top notch heavyweight again, he'd lose. But he has nothing to be ashamed of; he won a world title and being able to say that in any sport is something to be proud of.

Of course, he should. Reflexes are gone, and as I posted in another thread, he was so slow, he made Valuev look like a "Speedy Gonzalez"

If he wants to. Or he can fight some lower ranked guys for a little money. He isn't brain damaged or anything. Just old as hell, and slow as ****.

Depends, if he is in need of money, he should fight, if not, hang 'em up.

His legs looked horrible after the first solid shot Peter hit him with and thats understanable being 39 years old. Unless he fights some journeymen for fun and cash hes going to be facing guys who are more accurate then Peter and possibly hit harder because im still not impressed with Peters power.

    Yes!

In fact Holyfield, Ruiz, Briggs, Mecci and McCline should also retire. And . . . Vitaly and Tyson should stay retired.

Jesus . . . you people doesn't notice why the HWD sucks? :rofl
