This is one of those fights which Floyd can't win in the public eye. If he wins, it'll be "he beat a shot, faded, old and slower" version of Mosley.

I think that this should be sorted out before the fight goes ahead

It depends on how he looks. Unless he looks in tip top shape with sharpened skills, then most likely the claim that he was aged definitely stands. Even if he never gasses and looks like a 30 year old, his skills and style as a fighter have changed in nature since his prime. Unless Nazim sharpens his technique to the point of his prime skill usage and boxer-puncher perfection and still gets shut out, it can be safe to assume that the changes he's gone through over the last few years as he's gone up in age are a factor in a loss.

To deny this factor would be ludicrous.

It depends on how Mosley looks. If he looks old than it isn't out of the question. Shane hasn't fought in over a year.

I agree, Danny...it's almost lose-lose for PBF. People will never give him full credit if he wins, because it'll be because he beat an "old SSM".

That Mosley isnt in his prime should be clear to anyone who follows boxing.

Mayweather will get credit if he wins but the amount of credit he will get depends on how Mosley looks,if he still looks good he gets a lot of credit but if he looks like **** similar to what DLH looked against Pac he will get little credit.

Do you have to be a hater to say he is shot? Stupid thread!!!

To answer your question, Mosley is in the prime of his life now more than ever.

Floyd fans say the same thing about all of Pac's recent opponents, so why not.

i agree that it depends on how mosley looks in the fight, but mayweather usually makes everybody look bad.

but what then if mosley comes back in a great performance like he did with margarito, when everyone though he was shot before that fight, but afterwards, he looked like he had never aged

May wont get any credit even if Shane looks great and its a great fight that Money wins then people will claim that a younger Shane would have beaten PBF.

PBF just needs to win and move onto the next guy (pacquiao)

If he keeps winning sooner or later they will realise his skill!

Floyds gonna have to put punches together, 1 shot at a time..

Won't do **** to Shane Mosley.

Many people are saying Floyd Mayweather will win..

But how..? and in what manner..?

    It cuts both ways.

Floyd's fans will be trying to make a case of why he's the greatest fighter who ever lived, while the detractors will be saying SSM was past his prime.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Nothing gets "sorted out" on internet message boards, least of all ESB.

A blind man can see that Shane Mosley is years past his best. That was the case back in 2007 when he lost to Miguel Cotto, and it sure as hell is still the case now irrespective of whether he's fighting Floyd Mayweather or not.

I defy any sane person to watch Mosley vs De La Hoya from 2000, and then say that Shane is still close to his prime. He most certainly is not, end of story.

However, he is not shot, no-one can say that. He produced one of the best past-prime performances of the decade when he beat Margarito, so he is clearly still a top fighter.
