Don't know how to do a poll so I ask the question instead! FM Snr got bummed last night by Freddie Roach! In many ways Roach delivered a KO win over Mayweather almost as brutal as Manny's. Surely Floyd should call it a day as a trainer, he clearly has'nt got what it takes to prepare a champion. In fact if Mayweather Snr were to continue to prepare fighters in such a poor manner is he not putting the health of his fighter at risk by doing so? He should have his trainers/Managers licence revoked by the commission and never be allowed to train a fighter again.
Oh come on Floyd Sr. is an idiot but he's not a bad trainer. You just can't turn **** into gold, that's all. If licences were revoked because of such losses there would be perhaps 2 or 3 trainers in the whole sport of boxing.
mayweather told hatton what to do and trained, but like they say in boxing.you cant have trainer in the ring with.hatton could not excute the game plan.
Why? What was he supposed to do in a few weeks that Roach has done over years and years? It was the usual Hatton in there, he didn't implement any of what Mayweather Sr was talking about. I'm far from a fan of Mayweather Sr's style, but you can't get miracles out of a guy that has been in bad habits for a lifetime.
Mayweather self proclaimed 'greatest of all time'. If so you'd think Hatton would at least had a bit of a strategy to start with, but he just looked totally lost!!
His plan was the usual "go in there and smother the guy". Before the fight every boxing analyst would say that because of his size advantage it's a good plan and his only chance to win.
Why was all the pad work that they had done in the gym against an Orthodox stance instead of Southpaw! It doesnt make sense!
he had a game plan, he would not have went in there without one, one would think.damn i wanted hatton to win.
The gameplan definately wasn't to charge in with no head movement to be pot shotted everytime... Pretty sure Floyd Snr reminded him about this. If the fighter doesnt listen what can the trainer do ?
There was zero evidence of any positive influence by FM Sr There are rumours that Hatton wasn't paying attention to FM Sr from day one of the training camp. If that's true then it reflects poorly on Hatton but very poorly on Mayweather who, as the trainer, should be snapping Hatton into line. If Hatton were ignoring Roach do you think that Roach would put up with it? The clue is in the 24/7 series when Roach walked out on Micky Rourke even though he had nothing to go back to. Mayweather was as I'll disciplined as Hatton and as such is guilty of being incompetant and placing his fighters well being in jeapordy!
