The BBC isn't an option because of Graham Norton and Match of the Day likely doing far better numbers than any boxing at that time. ITV is more of a possibility but highly unlikely.

Channel 5 hasn't really kicked on mainly due to the odd contract situation of Fury and DeGale leaving Mick. The Maxinutrition tournament has been entertaining but that is at a domestic level which isn't likely to grab the casuals in. Hennessey should be applauded for keeping his product on terrestrial TV however.

As for Boxnation, until subscriber figures are released we can only really look to (slightly inaccurate for a channel of that size) BARB figures which show a 20k reach for the channel weekly.

 

What's stopping barry and Carl from doing their own deal with Sky?

 

Nothing- this would be the best deal if they were able to sort something with Hearn. Which could be tricky given Hearn's comments about Barry recently.

 

I mean forget Hearn if he won't play ball on Carls terms.

He was pulling in huge crowds and Sky were happy to walk away from Carl once, why do you think they'll be so interested now?

 

Matchroom have some form of exclusivity deal with sky, so its probably unlikely that sky will deal with another promoter.

Saying that though Adam Smith does seem to like Frampton and is always tweeting him and does give him good air time on ringside. So it's not beyond the realms of impossibility that Frampton signs some form of a deal with sky. At least I hope he does anyway.

But you know what, does he really need sky. Wouldn't he just make a **** load more money if he based himself in Vegas from here on out?

 

Thanks ...Match room have an exclusive Sky deal...didn't know that. That's a bit surprising. You'd think they would be open to an approach from Barry and co.
