At least there is no question that gastineau was a pro boxer. watch his fight with doc anderson. anderson beat the **** out of him for 5 rounds.

when gastineau says he was a pro boxer, i would have to agree. sure he sucked. yeah, he couldnt fight a lick.

but was he a pro boxer. yes.

so should butterbean be allowed to legitimatly call him self a pro boxer.

He was legit, be it the 'King of the 4 rounders'. He did have 1 10 rounder in his career against Larry Holmes. But he did have over 80 pro bouts in his long career.

Yes, how come these fights were reported in the boxing publications as if they were real fights?

Maybe both he and his opponents were shooting up together before this match?

I think his skills were about on a par with Alex Leapai's.

If all the fights people have cast doubts over were removed from the record books they'd sure be a lot thinner.

The fights were real, they just sucked.

Rourke was high out of his mind during this period, and they likely found his opponents in an alley behind the gym.

If you pause the fight with the guy in the red shorts at 13.48 you can see the punch doesnt land, all his fights were fixed..

When you have guys who have no idea what they are doing, you get crap like this. Guys falling from fear of being hit. Take your average joe and swing at him, he's going to flinch and fall down. If all his fights were fixed, he wouldn't have ended up with several draws.
