Why bother? He went 6-0-2 about twenty years ago against bums? I don't think he's hurting anything.

Mickey is planning on having four more fights over in Russia, the last of which I presume is going to be a world title shot of some description. He was only a pound over the super-middleweight division limit last night so perhaps he might sweat that excess pound off and campaign down at 168 instead. I think given his age it's highly unlikely we're going to see him in against one of the top dogs like a Froch or a Ward, but one of the weaker strap holders like Abraham or Dirrell could be a more realistic option. I can't see him beating any of the titlists up at 175 though - Kovalev would absolutely smash him to pieces. There's no way they that fight should ever be sanctioned. I know I certainly wouldn't be interested in watching it if it did get given the green light.

I didn't realize that his opponent Seymour was actually a former California Golden Gloves champion. Pretty impressive that he was able to get him out of there so swiftly and effortlessly given that and the huge age disparity between them. I don't care if Seymour's form in the pros hadn't lived up to the promise he displayed in the unpaid ranks, Rourke was over twice his age for goodness sake and he was coming off a freaking 20 year layoff. It would be amazing if he could break B-Hop's record as the oldest world champion. He'd be shattering it by at least 13 years if he were to accomplish it.

Rourke was fighting way too relaxed for him not to now. It's like he knew "I could drop my hands and stick my chin out and he still won't touch me"

Ive always been mystified by Rourke's delusion that he was a boxer. Its as if he didnt know that these guys were following the script. Then there are his odd claims that it was his boxing career that left his face looking like that. I dont recall him ever getting hit enough or suffering enough damage in the ring to get his face that ****ed up. In reality hes like a lot of Hollywood whack jobs who go under the knife out of hubris. I dont know the guy is a freak show. He always fights total bums who are obviously smaller than him btw and looks like pure **** beating them as they take their dives. Id guess most modestly decorated amateur boxers could destroy Rourke in a round if he didnt pay them to take a dive before hand.

Forget modestly decorated amateur boxers, I'm confident on my worst day I could beat any version of Mickey Rourke, and I'm no tough guy by any means.

.... but of course, I'd take the dive for the $$$$$ and the £££££

real simple: look up mickeys "pro boxing"matches on the internet.

now if you come out thinking they were a bunch of the worst fixes you have ever seen.......congrats!:happy YOU have proven yourself to have a) good working eyes and b) you can tell the difference between a pro boxing match and a pro wrestling bout.

now if you come out thinking: DAMM! that mickey rourke was a serious fighter, a real pro......undefeated, and a big puncher! he could have gone places!!
then a) go have your eyes examined b) go back to watching pro wrestling c) never miss a day in school (cause well, you are quite dumb) d) never get into a fight using the "mickey rourke patented super awesome boxing technique"........and while your at it e) pull your upper lip over your head and swallow:hi:

I love how boxing fans get all self-righteous about SOME fighters' clearly bogus boxing matches, but ignore others. Of course Rourke's fights are set-ups, but how different is this from, say, Deontay Wilder - who has been fed stiff after stiff to build a totally bogus KO record?

The difference is only in degree. The fact is, MANY boxing matches are fake, in the sense that they are not a real competition. Given this, why complain about Rourke? His matchmaker is only a more blatant practitioner of an art on which boxing is, essentially, based.
