Kinda wired situation for Cotto tonight.... The guy that beat him lost to the guy he beat so....also Margs hand wrapping scandal was exposed by Hopkins team. How does Cotto feel tonight? Things to consider 1)Cotto loses a chance a true redemption 2)Cotto has evidence that Margarito may have illegally wrapped 3)Cotto already beat Mosley who now has his belt.. 4)Cotto now knows Margarito can be knocked out and also the blueprint to beat him has been mapped out.. What do you think is on Cotto's mind tonight?
I think the handwrap thing really exonerates Cotto quite a bit. You could even say he's legitimately undefeated.
Happy, now he can rematch Mosley for a title who he already beat rather than Marg who, imo, would have knocked him out again this time.
If you know the Cotto family....they don't take delight in the bad news of Margie's cheating. However, I'm sure they are upset that his possible rematch in June may fall through....they were really anticipating putting Margie out this time.
1. Cant see him being bothered by that, the fight still might happen 2. That's ****ed up and he should be pissed 3. Would probably fancy his chances again 4. Dont think Cotto can do exactly what Shane did, Shane's strength and power coupled with his speed and accuracy was key tonight. Styles make fights. Overall he should have enjoyed it (he's a Boxer), but with the handwrapping thing maybe he's a bit pissed off and eager to find out what the **** it's all about, then go about getting his belt back.
Cotto came out ahead now, before he was a guy who was beaten up. Now he beat up the guy who is champ and who beat the guy who beat him. This helps Cotto. Almost like his loss was eliminated.
