Now I cant hear you about to bash in a big fat no but hear me out a little. The hall of fame is not purely just for a fighters record. On that basis do you think Hamed deserves a spot because of the attention he ganerd, the fact he drew much attention to the lower weight classes and the fact his unique and exciting boxing style drew many into the sport?
You knows its a hall of fame for great BOXERS. Not guys who gamble inside the ring and try to put on the best show. Hamed IMO deserves a star on the Hollywood walk of fame for entertainment value, but not boxing HOF.
16 World title Wins 14 KOs all the belts 9 World Champs (More than Calzaghe) exceptional talent lost to a an ATG in his prime
yes, for what he brought to the sport. no, for quitting the fight after the barrera loss not the makings of hall of famer in my book. Johnny Tapia,Erik Morales, Marco Antoinio Barrera (rematch),Manny Pacqiuao,In-Jin Chi were fights that could have been made, but he figured his style had been worked out and could'nt be bothered to adapt. The no's out weigh the yes's for me.. IMO
I Think he can Hameed Had his Own Boxing styl He was Very Fast and I Think one of The hardest Punscher in His Division in The Boxing History he have lost Only 1 Fight and Hamed was 5 Years Undisputed world Champion and his show was very Funny and fantastic in the History of Boxing ^^!!! yes he can .
Calzaghe has 9 world champs on his resume: Eubank Woodhall Reid Brewer Mitchell Lacy Kessler Hopkins RJJ
I don't have strong feelings about it either way. I wouldn't be upset if he weren't included nor spiteful if he were. If you just look at it as pure ''fame'' then there's no doubt. He was a star. Sure. If it's a question of a hard to define ''greatness'' then a lot of us have our doubts about Hamed. You could make a case for him either way. I thought he was good for boxing. Generated interest whether it was from people that loved him or hated him, he was a spectacle.
If it wasn't for Hamed I doubt very much that fighters in the loweer weight classes would be getting quite the same purses they get now. He brought so much to the lower weight divisions and the sport in general and ruled the division for some time, he obviously wasn't interested in boxing anymore when he waas beat by Barrera either.... so Naz belongs in there without a shadow of a doubt in my mind. If Frank Warren deserves to be inducted so 'the Prince'.
