Remember Benn was also 22-0 with 22 KO's - hardly anyone got that far with straight KO's.
They were mostly in one or two rounds, too. And he smashed out experienced tough guy Jose Quinones in a round on his Vegas debut, (then Barkley!) .. live on NBC (v Watson) before he even left Britain.

****:admin brother could hit and i think he's an underrated hitter on the ring's top 100 punchers at 93 (or 91...i'm a little high)

    He's disgracefully low on it.

Look at the right hand that flattened (and finished, career-wise as well) Dan Sherry, who was robbed against both Eubank and Otis Grant. Probably the most awkward mover in boxing. And Benn tried measuring him for a few rounds before timing him with a counter overhand, a peach. So it wasn't just against bums on the way up, or raw power.

Or the overhand right smashes that jellied Iran's legs for the first and second KD's of their one-rounder (including one in the first couple of seconds!), or whacking iron-like Doug DeWitt's head from one side of the ring to the other with a blow! That was raw power and speed of punch.

Sure he deserves to be in the hall of fame but let's not discount how good Eubank was here either, 2 fights with Benn and he never lost. Same goes for Michael Watson, he deserves a place in there too if Benn and Eubank do.

Loved all 3 of them when they were fighting. Having said that Roy Jones is far greater than all of them, as is James Toney.

:thinki would likely rate toney higher but grudgingly. i LOVE eubank and defintely feel he ranks above benn all time. both should be in the HOF. disgracefully, the only watson I've seen is from the benn fight

I think so, beat some good names and been in some great fights. Benn, is also one of the greatest super middleweights ever.

Watson without a doubt was a better boxer than Eubank, Eubank himself admits this. Watch the 2 Eubank fights for proof.

Damn shame what happened to him, he gave McCallum a war too as I remember it. VERY skilled fighter and he owned the **** out of Benn.

Out of the 3 I'd rank them Eubank/Watson/Benn to be honest but obviously Watsons career was cut short by Eubank. I couldn't see any version of Nigel Benn beating Watson, and Eubank squeaked a decision and then hit the jackpot in the rematch whilst down by a mile on the cards. Michael Watson was a fantastic boxer.

But still, all 3 of them were inferior to Roy Jones, and I don't give a **** what the haters say, I'd pick Toney to beat Watson/Benn/Eubank, never mind Jones.

agreed :good and i love the tactic watson used with benn, in that he blocked benn's shots OPEN handed, covering up more of his face and letting benn just wear himself out along the ropes

    **** yes he should.

Like a ****ing caged animal in the ring, one of my favourite fighters to watch... right up there with Tommy Hearns.
