In floyds defence; mosely now has 5 loses does not bring alot of fans to the table holds a title pbf sees as meaningless due to not rating margorito shane had his chance in 2006. and has lost to a prime welta in cotto so floyd sees it as hes doesnt get much credit for the fight or help his legancy

    in Moselys defence; doesnt duck anyone and has been seen every interview now to be calling out the best including mayweather floyd needs to fight a top top welta weight that is a must and mosely would be the hardest fight for him i believe;

i believe no1 ducking anyone at the moment but does mayweather need to fight him :smoke

Yes they should fight. It would be bigger then Floyd-Marquez for SURE.. I cant believe Floyd was trying to say otherwise on his press tour. I hope he doesnt really believe that.

Of course he should fight him, surely as boxing fans we want to see the best fight the best?

At the least he should face JMM, Pac and (providing he wins) the winner of a Cotto/Mosley rematch.

The "he has 5 losses" excuse doesn't hold water.

Put Floyd in there with a prime Forrest twice, a prime Winky twice and a prime Cotto and see if he's still undefeated. PBF could have possibly lost all 5 of those as well.

hmm says... of course... they could've been done with this business a long time ago.. Mosley ain't getting any younger and he did PBF a favor by taking Margarito out of the picture.

Should of. Mayweather gains nothing from beating Mosley.

He waited till he got old.

He might be old but he's just coming off the back of a top 3 career best performance and is generally regarded as the number 1 welter.

Yeah, because fans want to see it. He should fight Mosley after JMM next. Shane is getting up there in age (still looking good though) so the fight should be sooner than later. The deal will be easier to make as well, compared to dealing with the scumbag Arum!

If Floyd beats Shane, he has a WW title. Then if he fights Pac, that gives a chance for Pacquiao to get a title at WW also. I know people don't want to wait for the Floyd/Pacquiao fight but I still wouldn't mind this scenario.

That doesn't change the fact that he's still pushing 40.

He should fight Mosley as he truly believes he's (Floyd himself) the best.
He's got enough Money... this excuse about Mosley not being a draw outside of California is bullcrap.

To be honest, I see Floyd as being a little uneasy because he knows that even though Mosley is old... if he does roll back the years & not come in flat (say he comes in like vs. Margarito or Cotto... not like vs. Mayorga), then he has a good shot at winning a Split-D. While on the flipside, he knows that if he beats Mosley (regardless of how old Mosley looks on the night -- be it FADED or rather a great old fighter rolling back the years)... he will still get all the 'Mosley was past it''s (which is very true...).

So in terms of that risk/reward, and as the money isn't as great in other fights, I can see why he refuses to fight Mosley.

Way I see it, only Cotto OR Mosley will get a shot at Floyd (not both)
& if either of them fights + loses to Pacquiao... Floyd will NOT be giving them a shot. fullstop.

Anyhow, to land a Mayweather fight:
Cotto would need to beat either Margarito in a re-match or Pacquiao
    &
Mosley would need to beat either Cotto or Pacquiao

    ---

Berto has a better-chance at landing a fight with Floyd..than Cotto & Mosley combined, if Pacquiao goes ahead with a fight vs. Cotto or JCC Jr in November...
