I think Ortiz could play passive at first and make a boring fight, avoiding any contact, just circling around wilder and fainting here and there. Fans will start booing and Wilder will be under pressure to provide something "amazing" and then Ortiz can find holes and counter.
No. At his age he’ll tire his legs out. He needs to stay in close and use angles like he did in the first fight, but he needs to work on Wilder’s body more and neutralize Wilder’s lead right hands, since Ortiz had no answer for it in the 1st fight.
No this is a terrible plan to let Wilder plant his feet and attack you. Plus Ortiz can't do anyway, Ortiz and moving don't go well together.
Both of his feet are made out of cement and his head is a magnet for right hands. Even an obese slug slow journeyman will land 9 out of 10 right hands on that massive magnetic melon of his.
Wilder is terrible at going forward against defensive boxers .He falls over his punches bc of bad balance that's why he likes opponents going to him ,Ortiz can do both and landed the punch that initated the 7th round by luring wilder in and then going on offensive. Wilder is also poor at defending shots coming at him if he has to block them so anyway will work if you mix it up on him and not fight just one way if you give up a lot of height . If Ortiz has a steady jab attack and works the distances ,wilder cannot LEGITAMATLEY win without a knockout. Ortiz best bet is mix the attack up every 2 rounds bc Wilder is not that hard to confuse,he has very good ring IQ IF an opponent isn't throwing in volume bc he spots openings.
Ortiz needs to pace himself and be selective with his power shots, his jab was good in the first fight, when he became unstructured going for the finish was when he started unravelling.
