Should P4P include female fighters? Since P4P is just a concept that takes fighters of different strength levels and puts them on an equal playing field. Can women be included into the P4P discussion together with the men?
No because you could never match a man and a woman P4P even at the same weight and all that would do is just overly complicate the rankings. Just keep the rankings separate.
Ok but then why deal with P4P period? Or weight classes for that matter. A smaller weaker man would never fight a skilled 200+ lbs man.
Men smaller than 200lbs can beat men above 200lbs. A heavyweight female boxer would probably get starched by a lightweight male boxer. Men are built stronger p4p
I'm not sure tbh. Just checked there is a women's p4p list on ESPN, but it hasn't been updated since September it appears.
Because a smaller elite male boxer would destroy an elite female boxer who's 3 or 4 weightclasees bigger than him. You've heard of Lucia Rijker right ? She was a successful boxer and kickboxer infact she went undefeated as a kickboxer. She had 1 fight vs a male kickboxer and got brutally knocked out she wouldn't even be in the top 100 in the men's rankings. I have nothing against female boxers but I think there's too much of trying to compare men to females now in general. Keep it separate and give women their own P4P rankings simple.
This is true. But same goes for comparing a smaller man to a bigger man. In the real world that smaller man gets destroyed. Unless he bulks up. But then he no longer is a smaller man. It’s like a tiger fighting a house cat. Is that even the same species?
James Toney with his burger King buff wasn't getting knocked out by massive heavyweights like Sam Peter
No. What kind of question is this........ The best female fighter all time in every division would never beat any male world champion at that same weight. Females compete against females for a reason. It's damn obvious. Look at the Olympics.....from power lifting, to track and field, to basketball, etc..... Females CAN'T compete with males in this world class sports. No matter how man equality marches feminist want to have. You don't get the same product from both. Think about it, the fastest woman in history (Flo Jo) has a world record in 100m dash of 10.49 seconds.....There are multiple high school boys who have best that time repeatedly. Claressa Shields claims she can beat men in the ring all because she's sparring no named amateurs and C level prospects who are told not to go all in vs her in sparring. Look at how dramatic she got when the video came out of her getting dropped by a sparring partner.
