Pretty much the way i look at it, frankly floyd is a superior fighter p4p than pac, pac got more power and an equal chin and floyd is superior in every other department IMO

That's not really a fair comparison. Cotto is a beast and was never going to stay at 140 for long, whereas Floyd moved up even though he could still make the lower weight. Mayweather gains nothing in terms of his power and skills by fighting at 147. If anything, he's at a disadvantage given the durability and size of the opponents at this weight. That he has such success here when he's not a particularly big guy says plenty about his talent.

My Marquez comment wasn't entirely serious. I though JMM had the fight by two rounds and was landing the cleaner shots in greater volumes, throughout. I'm not going to cry robbery, but it wasn't the kind of performance that's going to make me rank Manny ahead of Floyd.

Floyd's fought bigger punchers and has never been dropped, nor wobbled particularly. I think he's clearly got the better chin. Pac has the greater power, but that's it.

The first person to mention the Judah fight, loses.

very possibly, floyd has a great chin, but on a p4p scale morales and barrera could bang and they couldn't take pac out, pac has a solid set of whiskers imo

not yet. floyd is still #1 due to his domination over hatton and if calzaghe wins against bhop convincingly he might be tied with pac as #2 or he will be #2 then pac is #3

    ow really now?

only pacfans call him number 1 p4p. other pacfans even know that he does not deserve that spot right now

Is the #1 spot for the pound for pound determined by skills of the fighter or the quality of his opposition? I would say Pacquaio has a better resume (I am aware Floyd went up many weight classes) than Floyd but Floyd would kick the **** out of him if they ever fought.

i really think joe cal is a bit over-rated when it comes to his p4p status. sure, he's still undefeated and has been champ for about 10 years now. but he hasn't faced any elite fighter yet. now, compare that w/ pac who is now a 4-weight and 3 time lineal champ while having fought 8x against elite competition.

therefore, does a joe cal win against hopkins who is lower p4p than jmm justify him going ahead of pac in the p4p charts? imho, i don't think so.

    pbf is clearly still #1.

p4p is the most subjective bull**** in boxing but mayweather certainly has everything in his arsenal with very minor weaknesses. he's gotta be tops till he loses or is inactive for 1 year.

    my top 5 p4p is
    1-floyd
    2-peter
    3-haye
    4-pac
    5-joe

Skill wise, Mayweather is P4P #1 but Pac level of comp is P4P #1. Pac has fought barrera 2x, Morales 3x, Marquez 2x. That's 7 hard fight in a couple of years. I don't think there's many peoples that will complain if Pac is P4P #1.

You saved me from having to write this but I would like to add. All the guys that pac has fought has also moved up in weight. I knew that it was only a matter of time before someone brought that up and I was waiting. They need to keep in mind that the weight thing is the very same for Hatton Floyd as it is for Pac and the last few fights. MAB, Erik and JMM all started at abit higher weight them Pac but they all moved up. Floyd started at a lower weight then Oscar and Hatton but meet them at a higher weight. Its the same thing. The difference is Hatton is in his prime unlike any of the guy that Pac has fought and I believe that Oscar is better (Skill and Talent) then everyone Pac has fought. Keep in Mind that oscar was the p4p king before his lost to Shane. MAB, Erik or Jmm were never at the very top.

eNot on my list. Manny needed a special performance against JMM to even be considered #1. IMO he lost the fight by a point so therefore Manny is no where near being #1 atm.

Once again what is the difference in Floyd fighting Oscar and Pac fighting Berrera, Erik and Jmm again?? Why would floyd not gain anything?? If appears that in the minds of many Pac gained and most dont even think that he won the fight. What if Floyd were to stop Oscar are you telling me that it would keep him at status quo?? I dont think so. Dont get me wrong I would rather see Floyd fight Cotto, or Cintron or maybe even berto then a second fight with Oscar even thought I think that Oscar has a better shot at winning a fight vs Floyd then the other three that I listed. The reason, because he already seen Floyd vs Oscar. And barring Oscar landing a big left Hook the second will be the same as the first. Been there seen that.
