Should Pac walk down Floyd a la Hatton?

Pacquiao can only win by outworking Floyd and putting rounds in the bank... He's gonna have to just throw punches from all angles like he's been doing and avoid being countered. Floyd can stop Pac late from accumulation of all those counters Manny would eat throughout the fight, but Pacquiao can win a UD if he stays sharp and on his feet..

I used to think Mayweather would be favourite but the more I imagine them getting it on, the more of an even contest I see it being. If anything, it will be Floyd who has to change his style and throw more punches. Pac just has to do his thing, there is no other way he can win. Use his superior speed and come at him at awkward angles and the big one is to be relentless in offence, keep up the kind of work rate he was showing against Clottey and Cotto. That will eventually force Floyd to fight as Pac throws just too many punches for Floyd to counter them all and Pac will win rounds due to sheer punch out put despite being counter punched in the process. If anything, I would actually have Pac as slight favourite because he has a better chance of KO'ing Floyd if he forces Floyd to go toe to toe with him. It is difficult to predict.

I think the fight would be one of, if not, the biggest fight in the history of the sport. My respect for both fighters will have gone down if this fight doesn't get made.

 

In and out movement... No need to bully when he has the speed and agility to keep Floyd moving or thinking... Blind him by speed and surprise him with power..

Hatton's footspeed is what allowed him to get in quick on Floyd, if Floyd had used the jab all fight like he did in the 9th round he would have had an easier night. HE WILL USE THE JAB ON MANNY THOUGH!

 

One would be crazy to think Pac would do the same. He'll test the water in the first two rounds, then he'll do his thing.

Just like what he did to Cotto, he first tested Cotto's power. But once Pac tested Floyd's power and he thinks he can take it, I see him going forward all night. Pac is the kind of guy to take three to give one. I see it an easy UD for Floyd, but I could also see a Pac KO.

In an interveiw that Brain Kenny did with Roach on friday night fights after the Floyd vs Marquez fight, Roach said "What Manny does best is what Floyd wants fighters to do, its going to take some time to come up with a gameplan for Floyd. Floyd wants fighters to came at him so he can turn them get them off balance and counter. At the same time he will then change it up and walk to them just to throw them more off balance. The problem is when he walks to them its defence first, so while it appears that you can attack him he is still looking to counter"

Now that isnt word for word what Roach said but its close.

Floyd would be a very tough fight for Manny to win, in a fight with Floyd Manny will be at risk when he is doing what he is most comfortable doing and that is jumping in to throw his combos. I think that as he jumps in he will get the **** countered out of him. Although history has shown that Floyd has some trouble with fighters that put pressure on all the time, Manny isnt that kind of fighter, and I think that should he try that he would take a worst beatting then he would fighting with his normal style.

Its a fight that is going to come down to Pac defense, because his offence isnt going to be there as it has in all his fights before. Its going to be alot like his fights with Marquez the only thing is Floyd is faster, bigger stronger and hits harder. Pac gets hit alot and if he doesnt sure it up he will get busted up vs floyd.

 

Before the Clottey fight I thought the same thing. floyd would either win a very easy UD or Pac would win by KO. But now I dont think that Pac can stop Floyd barring a huge mistake on the part of Floyd which in all the fights I have seen he doesnt make many mistakes. floyd can fight with caution and still get his shot in, which is the reason that som many people dont like his fighting Style. I think that it pisses people off that floyd can take no risks and still win fights.

 

Hatton was far from mediocre.

To answer the question Pacquiao can not fight as well any other way however the punches come from far better and varying angles from PAC and the pressure is more intense so yes he should walk him down because thats what he does best
