Should Pacquiao’s catch weight title wins be considered exhibition bouts?

Margo won't drained. This is a good catchweight. The only thing I don't like is it being for the title. Same with Mart/Williams. 157 is a good weight for both. Bad catchweight fights? Ask Floyd about them, he fought a dude 2 a couple of weight classes removed from his best and didn't still BOTHER to make weight.. I also didn't like Manny's with Cotto.

But at 151 Marg will be alright, he's made both weights, 147 and 154, struggled somewhat to make 147, but will probably just right for 151. Only Manny haters will cry.

wow! how ****** are some of thinking that this drains Marg down when most of his bouts were at 147. cant imagine how this people would react if the bout were at WW.

Why all the fuss about catchweights, I GURANTEE you when the bell rings, AM will weigh a LOT more than 154. Catchweights are no more bull**** than what Floyd did by ouweighing JM by 10-12 lbs, where's the beef?????

If it doesn't affect them, they wouldn't be asking for them to fight at a lower weight.
And if Margarito would be just right at 151, Margarito's camp would make him come in at 151 even if there was no catchweight.
Roach isn't looking out for Margarito, but for Pacquiao.

Given that you apparantly place so much stock in the sanctity of title belts, explain why you think Sergio Martinez was a legitimate WBC light middleweight champion when he held the title for nearly a year despite never in his career having been in a fight when that title was on the line?

Isn't that the sort of thing you should be all up in arms about?

No, they should just get asterisks.

"this fight was contended below the LMW or WW limit"

we can be critical of the pacs team requesting this catchweight stuff, but at the end of the day if the other fighter agrees to it then it is his own fault. catchweights are being used far too often now in general, pac is a 147 lber, if he cant move up one division then stay ur ass at ww and fight someone there or at 140.

I think you miss the point rather than Challenge Martinez the legit champ he ends up in a fight with Margarito who I am more than certain that Top Rank has no intention of allowing him to win...hence the catchweight, choice of judges, and a fight in a venue that leaves drug testing up to the promoter and no J u s t i n Fortune... which makes me realize in hindsight why Valero fought there

Dude Martinez hasn't fought at LMW in like a year plus now. Not just that if I remember right his trainer said he can't even make that weight anymore. Not to mention he won his belt because Forrest was stripped of it. So as much as I would love a Martinez fight its hardly the best thing in the world.

When two fellas are trying to take each others heads off it's not an exhibition.
