I just dont get it, Clottey has only one big win on his record and thats against the mentally fragile Zab Judah by a cut at that sure a stoppage was well on its way But Zab wasnt anything special.

He has lost every time he stepped up lossing to both Cotto and Margarito I think Clottey is being given a shot he really doesnt deserve and I think being that Manny likes to fight at catch weights, wouldnt bradley be a better opponent to go, if its really about giving the fans a good fight?

Waste of a fight if you ask me, and again in this sport you never know, Clottey just might have the juice to pull it out but I doubt it.....

Thanks pac for ****ing up what seemed to be a perfect year in the sport...:good

With Pac having beaten Cotto, Shane, Berto, and Mayweather tied up, and Margarito beaten and disgraced, Clottey was the best option available in the welterweight division. Yeah, you can say maybe Pac could have found a better fight at 140, but given that he's most likely going to want to take on the winner of Shane-Mayweather, staying at Welter is preferable.

Although Clottey lacks the big win, he's shown flashes of potential and has been hanging just outside the welterweight elites for years. So yes, Clottey was the best match that could be made at welter when it was signed. (Expect Mayweather, but the two of them had to mess that up.)

Before it was signed there was no talk of Mosley vs Mayweather, Floyd was considering Hattons brother, so Mosley was available they just didnt want that fight, then you also have bradley who was calling him out but they still chose Clottey.....
Sick of Pacs **** already mother ****er running from Mayweather as soon as they requested specific testing, I mean what kind of **** is that? you duck a man who is known for ducking as well?

When Pac signed to fight Clottey the Mosley-Berto was still on.

So then why not bradley? I know why, Bradley would be strong at the weight even if they had him come up to meet him at 144 They know Clottey struggles to get down to 147 and is pretty much ready to be taken which is why they took clottey, I mean when a fighter gets knocked down by a jab, and is actually hurt by it from the perspective of Roach thats mannys best shot.....

Before Pac-Clottey was signed, Mosley was set to face Berto. Berto only called that off about 10 days ago, remember? Pac-Clottey was announced on the 10th, nine days before Berto withdrew.

So Shane and BErto had each other, negotiations with Mayweather had just fallen through, and I've already said why I don't think Pac and Roach wanted to go back down to 140. Clottey was the best of what was left, and he's a pretty good fighter himself.

I dont know if that is true but everybody knew that Clottey would be his next opponent even before the Mosley-Berto fight collapsed.

For the same reason that another thread, similar to this, would start "Why fight Bradley when Pac can face X"

X = Shane, Berto, Margorito, Malignaggi, Foreman, PWilliam, Arum, Roger May, my big brother, my roommate, Mr.T, and Oscar the Grouch.

PBF would be THE only real opponent that 99% would agree on. Shane would be the 2nd best choice. Since the PBF thing blew up and Shane was not available at the time of Clottey negotations....
    you have this kind threads.

He shouldnt even be boxing let alone getting a shot against any of the top welters, people talk about roids cause its a hot topic right now but what Margo did is much worse than taking steroids or any other illegal drug.
