Perfect answer. Nothing to add except to QFT.

******* should have been charged with attempted murder, he could have seriously injured or killed someone and he knew what he was doing.

After a fight with Mayweather didn't happen, any fight after that was gonna be a step down in terms of being an event. As a Pacquiao fan I'm not too excited about this Clottey fight yet. Maybe that'll change closer to fight night. Clottey is beatable but he's no pushover for anyone. Pac is rightly the favourite to win this but if he loses, and there is a chance he will, that would be a big, big dissapointment and spoil the party. The reason I'm not thrilled about this is because it's a fairly risky but low reward fight. Then again, you have to respect Pac for taking on an opponent like that. It's not what we wanted to see but he's taking on a solid welterweight at welterweight, can't complain too much.

While I'm not a big fan of "showcase" fights - or, fights that are meant to showcase a fighter's skills and nothing more - if anyone deserves one, it's Pacquiao. Say what you will about him, but who else has fought so many tough opponents back-to-back? I know they didn't all turn out tough for Pac, but he has fought six or seven potentially dangerous guys in a row. Hell, maybe more than that.

Anyway, I'm not crazy about this fight. I think Clottey is slightly more dangerous than Cotto. I mean, come fight night, he'll probably out-weigh Pac by thirty pounds! I still think Pac will win, but this seems like one of those high-risk, low reward fights.

To answer your question: Yes he should be. IF he wants to remain on top, he better find somebody else... Cause Clottey is about to tap that ass!

if you actually watched the fight, that Judah cut was caused by a punch.

he lost a controversial decision to Cotto that he would definately have won if he had home town advantage.

He was schooling Margarito in the early rounds.

According to ring mag, Clottey is the 5th best WW in the world. #1 just beat #4, #2 and #3 are fighting each other, and now #1 is fighting #5.

so the top 5 WW's in the world are all fighting with one another in 3 back to back fights, yet people are complaining.

    Are boxing fans spoiled brats?

He's fighting Clottey because he's a Top Rank fighter that was available and they needed to get him matched up quickly as his reputation was taking a battering for refusing random drug testing.

At short notice there wasn't really anyone else, he tried for JMM and ducked Foreman as he thought he was too big, I presume the same line of thinking would have been why Paul Williams wasn't approached either.

Mayweather - tried negotiating with him, didnt work
    Cotto - just beat
Mosley - was under contract to fight berto
Berto - under contract to fight mosley
    Margarito - no explenation needed

Now.... the next ranked welterweight in the world is

    Joshua Clottey....

that pretty much explains it no?

Yes, i wanted it to be Timothy Bradley.... but if Pac is focusing on the welterweights then he picked the best available welter.

    I hate threads like these.

If Pac had signed on to fight some other contender like Paulie, Foreman, Bradley, you'd just be creating the same thread saying why shouldn't have Pac gone for someone else?? (i.e. Clottey). Ridiculous.

People complaining PAC is jumping from one weight division to another in each fight. Now that he chooses to have another fight at welter division, somebody is whining that he should fight at light welter. :patsch
