He's not winning this fight. He stands absolutely no chance against Joyce. He barely skimmed past a shopworn Chisora and lost to styrofoam chin Whyte. He's stagnated, he's shown no improvement and he's ducking Hrgovic.

What should Parker do after the Joyce fight ? Should he become a stepping stone for upcoming heavyweights like Chisora is ? What do you think he should improve at ?

I wouldn't say he has no chance, I favour Joyce to beat him but it will be competitive for at least the first half until Joyce wears him down.

He's only 29 now I don't see why he should retire even if he loses, no reason why he can't continue making good paydays if he's willing to take tough fights. Also no reason why he couldn't improve in the next few years now he has a new trainer.

His 2 biggest faults are his predictability and susceptibility to be countered after throwing which is a common trait in poorly trained speedsters.

Almost every attack Parker initiates starts with his weak jab it's become a way to anticipate when he's about to throw a power punch. His jab seems to be thrown with no real purpose not even to set up his power punches, it's as if it's thrown out of habit. He needs to learn to initiate more attacks without throwing a jab first and also be taught to use the jab with real purpose. Though with his short reach I think his lead hand would predominantly be best used to simply take away taller opponent jabs, parry with the lead hand then counter with the rear hand.

Parker needs to learn to pivot off to the side after throwing. Right now he get all his weight on his front foot, throws and then is just a sitting duck to be countered or backs up and often still gets hit, it's a big reason why he's perceived as being reluctant to throw, he simply can't throw without becoming vulnerable. Learning to angle off after throwing will also create new angles for him to attack it would make him so much more dangerous as an offensive fighter. Beats them to the punch, angles off to avoid a counter and then lets rip with another combo, he'll have opponents backing up and fearing to throw instead of him being the one reluctant to unload.

He also needs to learn to clinch after throwing to negate any possible counters and when he throws the right hand lead move over to his left and past his opponents right shoulder where he can't be hit much like Hopkins, RJJ and many other well educated fighters do after after throwing a lead right hand.

Shorpworn or no Chisora had made problems during first rounds to ALL boxers he had fought with only 2 expections: 40 y.o pre retirement uncle Vitali and Fury in their second fight vs Chisora.
All other fights: boxers HAD problems with Chisora in first rounds. All boxers, Usyk too, Whyte actually might had lost 1 st fight vs Chisora and was behind Chisora before he KOed Chisora in their 2 nd fight.
Fight Helenius vs Chisora might had been scored for Chisora.

Parker is young, he might improve, he is <30.

Btw where is info that he had " ducked " Hrgovic?
As far as I know, IBF had offered Hunter to fight vs Hrgovic and Hunter opted to do other fight not to fight vs Hrgovic.
    Why, I don't know.

Yep Chisora isn't an easy fight for anyone unless you are truly exceptional like Vitali and Fury. Parker isn't on their level but he's still no doubt a top 10 fighter and better than anyone Joyce has beaten to date.

I'm assuming that's coming from Hearn saying he'd made offers to a bunch of fighters and maybe Parker was one of them I can't recall. But lets be fair to Parker he's making way more money in recent fights than what Hrgovic would of been offered. Hunter would of gotten 360K I believe or something close to that and Parker probably got more than that to fight Junior Fa when it was reported Fa turned down about that to fight Parker.

With respect, Chisora is half a level above anyone Joyce has beaten...

Joyce looks decent but this is definitely a step up - it's by no means a gimme.

I have this fairly 50/50 - Parker isn't as good as he was and Joyce is on the way up, despite his age.

Could go either way on it

I think it's a 50/50 fight and Parker is capable of winning.

This forum underrated Joyce before the Dubois fight and now overrates him.

People on here also seem to hate Parker.

Shhhhhhhh, that might be construed as making Joshua look better - the Fury and Wilder fanbois will be after you...

Lol true I'd purged that one from my mind. Wasn't what I'd call a dominant display with all the clinching from Pulev though his tactics were effective in spoiling what Chisora does.

I honestly don't get the hype around Joyce, he has fought nobody of any real note. Parker has a top pedigree and will beat Joyce.

I never got the hype around parker either tbh..

Joyce stemrollers him , easy work.

Parker done well in the money stakes for himself after winning a belt for five minutes, considering he's a hughie fury level fighter.

The boy done well for himself.

Is this being made or just speculation? I've heard nothing of this and I constantly check for the latest boxing news.

Dubois, Jennings, Takam and Stiverne are hardly bad wins. Maybe not Stiverne because he was really past it but still, he's got some good names on the register to date.
