Joyce actually has to land those jabs first.

Tough fight for Joyce. There’s a lot of buzz around him at the moment, especially with the DDD win.

On the flip side, Parker appears to have stagnated. Having said that though, the level he’s stagnated at is one way higher than Joyce has come across before. Joyce was struggling with a 40 year old Takam, until a rather weak stoppage.

Let’s not forget that Parker has wins over Chisora and Ruiz, as well as a 35 year old Takam. He’s also shared the ring with Joshua and Whyte.

I’d go as far to say that this is a massive step up for Joyce.

Yup and he was very accurate vs limited Dubois. Parker has a problem where if he evades a punch he doesn't make his opponent pay, he's just happy to have evaded. He'd need to bite down on his guard and make Joyce pay if he is missing those jabs, haven't seen it yet from Joe.

Yeah Dubois isn't exactly much of a mover. Hopefully we'll see a new game plan from Parkers new trainer now he's had a bit of time with him. He's got the tools the rest is up to him.

Yeah I've noticed this too, it's why he doesn't counter punch enough, he slips and moves into positions he can't counter from so when an opponent is aggressive all he can really do is either run or stand and trade he hasn't the nuance in his game to know to use his head and body movement to move into positions to counter attack.

Against someone with Joyce's work rate he might simply end up being out of position to throw back for a lot of the fight which will see him out pointed. When Parker does decide to throw he also has the problem of being countered himself and he leaves himself vulnerable after throwing as he hasn't learned to either clinch or pivot off to the side.
