He can't make mistakes like that and expect to get called on to ref major bouts. Real talk, anytime I see him in the ring before a fight, I think he's going to f**k something up. Bradley still wins IMO but you just CAN'T make a mistake like he did last night. I don't think they're going to investigate but it wouldn't surprise me. I just think dude needs to retire or be assigned less meaningful fights.

He's not corrupt just old and incompetent. Another poster mentioned that he saw Pat stop two other fights at the ten second warning as well. So he should quit or not be given big fights, because he is no longer able to perform as a top ref.

I think Octogenarians should be barred from any decision making, period. A referee needs to be attentive and alert, something that may be a challenge to a person with hearing problems.

Genuinely think he just ****ed up at the end of this fight. I mean we have seen plenty of boxers mistake the ten second clap for the bell and I don't think they had money on the fight.

Even if he let them continue, Bradley would have held on and at worst got knocked down.

I think they should check how coherent he is considering he is 67 years old.

If they can't get a better fight for Bradley then they should do the rematch.

The 10-second warning sticks in the 12th round were hit very loudly and repeatedly over and over again. The guy was so excited with the right hand Vargas landed, that he just couldn't stop hitting those sticks, he was basically clapping with those sticks. This warning stick hitting was so loud and jarring, and so hard that to Pat Russell only a bell could make that loud of a sound and he stopped the fight thinking that was the bell. The bell turned out to be the warning sticks.

Pat Russell should not be blamed for that, instead the warning stick guy should be blamed for hitting the sticks so hard and for so long with 10 seconds remaining causing referee disorientation.

There's no way to know what would have happened. Bradley was out on his feet. One punch could have KO'd Bradley. Since the saved by the bell rule was OFF, there was a chance Vargas could have knocked down Bradley with one more punch, and if Bradley went down, the count would have continued to 10 even after the final bell.

Therefore, Vargas has every right to consider himself undefeated. The fight should be ruled a technical draw (not a no contest) since the fight was ended before the final bell but Bradley should be able to hold onto the interim title until the rematch is fought since he was ahead on the cards at the time of the stoppage.

    LOL no.
Bradley would have survived, he outboxed a ****ty boxer, and won the fight. Deal with it, Timbo UD

Ill repeat it again...Jessie Vargas is a ****ty boxer, and a Bob Arum hype job.

He just looks especially crooked to me. This is not always accurate, take for example Lawrence Cole. He looks basically honest but is as filthy and dirty as a summer Texas day is long.
