Lennox Lewis was KO nastier by Hasim Rahman. He came back and beat him in the rematch.

Now why do you believe Quintana wouldn't be able to recover from the KO like Lewis did, considering he knows he has CLEARLY beat Williams before?

IMO Williams doesn't need Quintana, but if anything, if Quintana wants it, he deserves a Rubbermatch, just like Quintana granted Williams one.

Perhaps Carlos took Williams lightly in the rematch, considering he had CLEARLY won the first fight. Perhaps he came a little sliggish himself, and perhaps the reason he left himself open for the KO was because he was over confident like you claim Williams to be.

The same rules can apply to Carlos Quintana. Or not? Because you say so?

    It's common sense, agreed.

Williams don't need to give Quintana a rubbermatch. You saying Quintana deserve a rubbermatch cause he gave Williams one? Hello Williams gave Quintana a chance to fight him in the first fight. So basically Quintana return the favor to Williams by giving Williams a rematch. If that's the case don't you think Roy Jones should give Griffin a rubbermatch? Should Lewis give Rahman a rubbermatch?

I think the only real questions left concerning these two is, can Williams beat Quintana if he doesn't catch him and knock him out? And/or, was the KO in the 2nd fight a result of adjustments that PW made or the result of Quintana losing focus and getting sloppy? I think a 3rd fight would determine that.

Now whether a 3rd fight is something the public or even both fighters are demanding, I would have to say, no.

Roy Jones was well on his way to KO Griffin in the first fight. He was also ahead on points.

He got DQ. Griffin didn't beat him, RJJ beat himself.

In the rematch, he again beat Griffin.

The punch Rahman landed could very well be seen as a Lucky punch, where as in the rematch Lewis dominted. A rubber match wouldn't have been bad, since they were 1-1. Each KO the other out.

With Williams and Quintana, you have one who dominated the fight for the larger part of the 36 minutes, while the other lands a perfect punch to the button in less than 3 minutes.

Now remove the names from the above fight and read the following, forget Quintana and Williams.

"Fighter A dominated Fighter B for 12 rounds.
In the rematch this time Fighter A gets careless and gets KO in the first round by Fighter B from apunch right to the button."

Do you not think a third fight would make sense?

That's exactly WHY there should be a rubbermatch. 1st round KOs prove very little either way.

I say Williams and Margarito should have a rematch first. Margo has lost much respect from me. How could he not want to avenge the lost to Williams!!?? Until he faces him again he's simply under Williams in status. Belt or no belt.

Then he must be very lucky because he moved up to middle weight and got lucky again.

Quintana got Luck in the way that he fought Williams when he did, and that Williams didn't appear mentally up for the fight.
Remeber Williams had just beaten the most feared man at welterweight , then he was schedule to meet the most feared puncher at welterweight, to fighting a guy Cotto blew out of the water .

Just my opinion but again I just don't see Quintana as anything special .

Margarito fans and paul william haters wold rather see paul williams fight quintana for a third time rather than seeing their man margarito try to get revenge for his loss.... Anyone else find something funny about that? I mean seriously.. Since paul beat verno I've seen atleast 10 threads about what paul should do next but the move that is bought up the least is facing margarito.... Why is this fight not desired more by the fans... Its pathetic... And don't bring weight issues up to me... If you can make weight you in the fair... That's just an excuse out of fear... Nobody complained about usain bolt running the 100m dash because his legs were to long.... Step your game up
