Pavlik vs Kessler,Bute Calzaghe, Abraham or Strum could fill stadiums in those mens homelands and make Pavlik a world wide star, should Kelly take the chance of fighting them on there home truff's or should he make them come to fight the Ghost in good old USA ?

Why would he go to Europe when he's gonna get big money to fight in the USA.

Only if he was to fight for the Super Middleweight title. But the Abraham fight would need to take place in the US.

 Yeah. Go over to Eurupe and fight Calzaghe in Wales and get jobbed out of a decision.

    Atlantic City or Vegas, baby.

If he moves up to 168, yes. But for now, keep it in the USA.

Because they have bigger live gates in Europe Pavlik might even make more money then if he fought in the USA vs guys like Abraham Calzaghe or Kessler.;) On other hand he would have to deal with there Ref's and Judges.:-(

while it would be good for collecting more fans (similar to how kessler made me a fan when he defended his belt for the first time in australia), he IS the man at 160.

therefore it's sturm, abraham, and any contenders who will need to travel to america.

you only need to have one average performance in a foreign country and boom it's a decision win for the hometown hero.

this happens enough to be a danger for any travelling champ. while admirable it's a big risk. and it happens in all countries from germany to asia to america to mexico. no country is immune from bias judging.

pavlik would have to dominate his opponent like he did verses miranda for all 12 rounds to get a decision. obviously a ko is the best way to solve it, but eventually he'll be taken the distance, and he could potentially be robbed.

no, i say being the unified champ, he has the least reason to travel. maybe in a year or so when he has another belt, he could take some showcase fights in different countries. but fighting another belt holder would be dangerous

With a name like Pavlik, he is definitely Slavic. He should fight in Europe! Kelly Slavik should fight Abraham in Germany in a mega fight , in the future.

super middleweight is another situation however. kessler or calzaghe will be the unified 168 pound champ and also have more exposure and big time fights compared to pavlik.

in that case pavlik will have to go to denmark or uk. BUT if kessler is champ don't be surprised if the viking warrior lives up to his ancestor's desire to explore new lands. i would not be the least bit surprised if kessler went to america to fight.

Only if it makes financial sense or if he eventually goes after a euro champ.

That is a very good question.:huh And i can't believe I can't decide what to vote. Part of me says sure, go to Europe & KO Abraham. The other part says hell no, make him come over here. I mean, I'm confident it would be KP by KO, but being that Kelly is the MAN, make AA come over here.

I don't want this to become like RJJ vs DM did, with them never fighting. So if Abraham is going play hardball & insists on the fight being in Europe, what better way to convince the boxing world of his greatness by going over there & proving he's the damn best there is.

a fight against a mid level opponent would be good exposure for him. he should avoid having potentially close fights (like abraham) at overseas venues though.
