Can Kelly realize his potential with Loew as his trainer?

I think there are Pavlik has a number of issues that need to be addressed ASAP, or they will cost him down the road.

I think he should stay with his trainer. they have a good relationship and pavlik seems like the guy who would never leave him no matter what. I think they should get good sparring though with slick boxers, they will certianly have the money for it now and that is what kelly will be facing here in the future.

kellys defence is absolutely shocking. the top guys at 168 would beat on him badly, he and his team really need to work on this. heart and power will only get you so far.

it remains to be seen if his current team can fix his defence.

That's the way I see it too. At 168 all of KP's strengths are mitigated

Didn't you notice Steward slip Pavlik his business card and say "Call me" in the media scrum after the fight was over? :D

Actually I was thinking Stewart would be the perfect fit for Pavlik. But, KP, to his detriment, will probably never leave his current trainer (Kelly seems like a pretty loyal guy). And, it might look bad for Stewart to drop one of his fighters after a loss in favor of the guy that just beat him.

Yes, but they need to work on a lot of things - mainly defense. Pavlik is so straight-up that it makes him a huge target. He needs to work on slipping shots, moving his head, and blocking punches. So basically he just needs to work on defense.

taylor landed two more punches than pavlik, and threw just under a 100 less. when a guy like calzaghe or kessler get pavlik in trouble like he was in the second, they won't let him off the hook.
