should Povetkin fight Wlad next ... or be stripped?

... I guess that was the original idea behind creating WBA "regular" strap?
The "super WBA champion" can fight for other belts not worrying about his
mandatory too much but the new "regular" WBA champion was supposed
to fight the REAL WBA champion in the nearest possible time spot.

So since Wlad is not having any opponent set yet then the natural would
be that Povetkin should fight Wlad the very next and if he refuses his belt
    should be taken back.

    What do you think?

I don't think he'll ever be good enough to beat Wlad. Hell, he's already 31. Don't see much time for him to improve. So, might as well cash out.

Povetkin is taking the usual victory lap fight and facing Holyfield. After that it is really anyone's guess. At this point I really do not even have an opinion.

If the fight really happens, I hope Holyfield gets KO'd just so he can finally retire.

its pointless to strip a guy of a belt that means nothing.....and even if it did mean something...lets say he was heavyweight champ of the world..31 years, and with his great amateur background, he 5 years as a pro...if he held a real belt and said" i, not ready to fight wlad" then the belt truly means ****....because when you have the real championship belt, the one that has roots...everyone that held those belts never thought about losing once they reached that point...its supposed to give confidence...but its all moot...he won a worthless **** title from another heavyweight that has been joe average for 14 years as a pro....sign of the times

Povetkin is nobody and neither is his belt..... so let him do what he wants... Wlad is all that matters in HW along with his brother until someone beats them or comes close...

Povetkin is no Champ and never will be.

Wlad will KO him if they fight.

But Sauerland will protect Povetkin and melk the "regular WBA" belt.

The smartest thing for Povetkin to do is to milk the title. Hes 31, probably would get beaten by any brother and hasnt made that much money through out his career.

    Right.

Look, just the talk of fighting Holyfield ought to tell you Sauerland considers the belt a sales tool and have no interest in supplanting Wladimir. Povetkin will take a couple of easy defenses and then cash out against Wlad when the moment is right (or when the WBA is threatening to strip him).

ESB is really blowing a gasket over this WBA paper belt non-issue. Wladimir is the top dog according to the WBA; no one is disputing that.

He should fight Wlad next but he wont. Its ok though because the longer he waits and ducks the better its gonna be watching him be humiliated in the ring.

Wouldn't you rather holyfield gets the win so he can retire after getting a strap at his old age. Compare the 2 scenarios i think the later is far more attractive to any boxing fan.

But yeah hope he gets knocked out then retire instead, sure. lol

He'll fight 49 years old Holyfield. This fight was just confirmed by Povetkin's manager V. Hrunov.

He is the next David Haye. He will fight bums while his managers/promoters will get free publicity on claiming Klitschkos are next.

If they could, they would say Wlad is scared, but the whole world knows they bitched out of a fight twice so that simply won't fly.
