    What doi you guys think?

If Primo Carnera was nominated for induction into the Hall of fame and you were on the voting pannel would you vote for inducting him or against inducting him?

It is a Hall of FAME not Hall of GREATNESS....

It is a no brain-er; one of the most famous fighters of all time, should be in any credible International Boxing Hall of Fame

That is the most important argument.

It is the Hall of Fame not greatness.

Even so Carnera's acomplishments should be enough to get him on the list.

I suppose he was surrounded by enough great names and even crossed paths a fair number of them to make an argument. Jack Sharkey was certainly a great fighter in my book and Carnera damn near ended his life. There were several other very good fighters that Carnera defeated more than convincingly, and contrary to what some believe, he was actually a very respectable challenge for Max Baer.

Would Carnera ordinarily make the hall of fame based on MY OWN standards? No, but I suppose he gets their on the premises of most other's.....

Interesting that people tend to dig out Carnera these days.

Yes, I would vote him in. Seen many of his fights and I am going by the Willard benchmark.

Yes! along with Ed Dunkhorst,Ewart Potgeiter,Ed Too Tall Jones, Mike The Giant White ,and Joe Grim.
    Come one ,come all.
In the words of Paul Mcartney "open the door, and let em in".
    Primo Carnera.
One of the most lethal punchers of all time, its scandalous that he has never received his just dues.
Never voted Fighter Of the Year, despite winning the richest prize in sports .
Never voted or recognized as a top puncher, despite 72 kos in 89 wins for a 70% record.
Never included in the Ring Record Book's 100 Hardest Punchers, despite his statisitics.

Possessor of an uppercut so devastating he never used it before , or after decapitating Jack Sharkey, fearful he would kill someone.

You are right to address this miscarriage of justice.
Hopefully we shall see similar campaigns for the inclusion of .
Broadway Bill Duffy,Big Frenchy Demange ,and Owney Madden, in the managers section.

Good luck with your mission J, this post will self - destruct. :good

I dont care who's in the Hall Of Fame.
The Hall of Fame isn't important to me. I have no desire to visit Canastota, NY.

I think ESB Classic forum should set up its own Hall of Fame if this stuff really matters.

I think there are more deserving fighters out there, and based on that Carnera should not be in.

If Carnera wasn't a heavyweight champion he'd never make the hall of fame.
