the best you contrive for Primo being in HoF is as a crossover wrestler boxer, I suspect he was the one of the most successful wrestlers to have won the hw title.

However he never actually won the wrestling world title so even thats a bit of a squeeze (no pun intended).

I mean they pretty much let in every lineal hwt champ prior to the title split so it seems these guys are automatic

I guess you would have to determine and number just how much of his career was on the level

If you take his record on the level, he accomplished more than a few people in the Hall. In addition to Sharkey, Loughran and Stribling, he also has wins over Schaaf, Uzcudun and Godfrey. He has no worse a claim than Braddock or Sharkey.

Personally though, I hate the lowest common denominator standard some people apply to the Hall, whereby the main criteria seems to be the not too difficult task of finding someone with a worse record who has already been inducted.

Against the overall standard, Carnera falls short. There are also many fighters yet to be inducted who are far more deserving.

Yes. Carnera defeated Sharkey, Schaff, Uzcudun, Loughran, Gross, and Godfrey.

These are good name wins, vs. ranked fighters.

The Godfrey win was via DQ, I had Godfrey a round or two ahead before the low blow landed.
