Should Roy Jones get full credit for beating John Ruiz???

    It does demonstrate he's in the upper echelons of boxing tho. 6 of those listed are in my top 15. Jones is about 26 I think.

    Ruiz may have been a less than stellar champion and Roy certainly saw the opportunity to take advantage of this, but it was still an impressive feat.

    If it was that easy then every top fighter from around supermiddle/light heavy would have been queing up to fight Ruiz.

    Ruiz was better than people give him credit for, he just had a horribly ugly style which was very difficult for other heavy weights. Lennox Lewis refused to fight Ruiz because that style presented such a risk. Roy picked out the weakest looking HW champ in years and handled him pretty easy.

    One thing I don't understand is why James Toney doesn't get credit for beating Ruiz even worse than Roy. The perscribed steroid James was on were being used to accelerate the repair of a torn bicep muscle. He was off the drug for weeks prior to the fight, just didn't cycle out of his system. I understand the technical apsect of the decision being revoked, but that was an even better display and beatdown than what Roy showed.
