Don King seems to think it's a distinct possibility...

I suppose it comes down to your own view of a boxing career. If you view boxing as a way to make money, then no he shouldn't, as he can probably still win a minor belt and make cash defending it in Nigeria or on undercards. If you view boxing as a way to achieve as much as you can, I'd say yes. The Klitschkos are the major players now, and Valuev is up there too. Is Peter going to get a crack at or win one of the titles again? In all probability, no. If I was him, I'd pack it in then. What's the point of hanging around when you can never climb the heights again? Other than money? You're just risking your health.

If he was a lower weight fighter, he could move division and forge another career, but there's nowhere for Peter to go.

And I wouldn't be saying this if Peter had fought well but got stopped, as then maybe he could've went back to the drawing board, worked on his game and his fitness, and came back stronger, and went after the titles again. But he was SO outclassed and SO dominated and went out with such little fight or belief in him, I just don't see where he can go from here. Except down. And this was against a guy who had been out for 4 years remember.

You don't see my point at all then?

totally agree with you.. he looked so poor in there, no one will take him seriously from now on.. not boxing fans nor other fighters.. he won't get to fight important fights in the future, too much much risk/low reward fighting him.
he is sooo done as he should be getting battered like that by an old man who's not been in a ring for 4 years

Like I already said. Don King will sell his 50% of Peter. Don wants a piece of the HW titles.... Peter doesnt have that so don will drop him. Sam needs a new team and a new mental outlook about boxing. He needs to fully commit to it or he is just wasting his time and his fans

I dont get it - if he wont be taken seriously by other fighters why will there be a risk? If he is as bad as you make out surely its an easy way to get a former champ on your record.

Yes he looked poor but he was against someone who had him totally figured out and enough power to keep him off - not many fighters can do the same.

Vitaly might be an old man who hasn't been in the ring for 4 years but he's champ now and looking at the current heavies - who can beat him? all well and good trying to put down vitali with words - but if he's so bad get in the ring and put him down yourself.
