Should SBW take up boxing full time?

SBW could potentially be a good heavyweight, why wouldn't anybody welcome that? Sparring more regularly and fighting more often would help condition him to handle punches better, that said, if someone the weight of Botha hits you clean it is always going to have an effect.

That's the thing though, Botha never hit him clean and rocked him, could you imagine what Leapai would do to him?

Botha did him clean. Leapai rightly should knock SBW out right now, in a few years it'd be a diferent story if SBW committed to boxing.

I agree but if he does fight again he will take the Mundine low risk high reward route.

Stick to league, a lot easier and safer to make a little money. His chin doesn't look at that good, Polynesian don't seem to be to gifted in this department of the fight game and sonny seems to be cut from the same cloth.

To be fair, he did better than I assumed he would, good jab, good straight, showed decent fundamentals for someone at his level but agreed he needs to get rid of Nasser and Mundine influencing him. If the fight had been signed for 10 rounds it wouldn't have ruined the victory, he would of got some respect.

The 15 people who voted no have obviously not considered that SBW has no boxing background yet is clearly capable of picking up the sport.

Watch Mundine's debut then look at how slick and quick he became in a short space of time. Imagine what SBW could be in 5 years.

SBW needs to distance himself from the sharks around him if he wants to be taken seriously.

The Botha fight took the shine from him for me, and the BS about Mandy being robbed against Geale was the icing on the cake.

I think he could do ok if he applied himself to boxing only, but as I said, he needs a different team behind him.

Sox, it wasn't BS, SBW just knows boxing.

Hopefully with Khoder back in the Mundine camp, Tony Sr can resume training SBW.

If an old has been like Botha can find his chin and nearly KO him, what do you think a solid heavyweight would do to him? He should stick to rugby as he is making good money and is very good at it.

He ****ing did not, watch the video again, he got a few handbag swings at him, and punching the side of hsi head.

    Hit him clean... :rofl

In a few years it would still be the same outcome, you can't train your chin to take punches better mate.

If any of those guys had any concern whatsoever for Sonny Bill they would have thrown the towel in, not ending it the way it did.
If that was a serious young prospect you would expect him to be handled better especially in public.
The win looks no better than a loss now as it has been overshadowed.
