In this instance Hopkins has decided to take the high road first with Stevenson. Of the two, Stevenson is the better boxer while Kovalev is just a straight up brawler.
Because of his age and the fact that Kovalev is tucked away at HBO, Hopkins won't have time to fight and defeat both Stevenson and Kovalev. So, the best of the two, Stevenson will meet Hopkins and get defeated giving Hopkins the third belt and yet another new world record.
I expect that this will be Hopkin's last fight which is too bad because everyone wants to see him fight Kovalev, whip that ****** ass and become undisputed LHW champion before he retires.
