Ive been thinking about this for a while. Should close split decision wins have an automatic mandatory rematch? I dont see why not.

    Thoughts?:think

    Depends.

Mijares beat Munoz by SD but it was never an SD.

Same with Katsidis-Diaz, one judge somehow scored it for Katsidis and it was nowhere near close enough to do that.

SDs and draws should have a rematch or let them go 3 more rounds

it really depends. would you really want to see a rematch between john and juarez? i dont. for jmm-pac, it's a no brainer but for snoozefests that end up in a draw, it should not be the case

Yes, but when all stops and you wait for the decisioin and hoopla, okay three more rounds guys. You are already cold and if it was a war of a fight, it would be hard to get back into the zone and continue. I understand the answer though. A real split decision and a draw could bring up a rematch, but with all the politics in boxing, sometimes you never see a rematch. I don't believe in rematches if you knock the opponent out even if it was a good fight. I know, it is just my opinion, but if I KO you, I don't want to have anything else to do with you, next.

    Should Diaz rematch Katsidis?
    No is the answer.

It all depends...Some split dec. should never have an immediate rematch and some should just be forgotten.:good

Your correct. If it was up to us to decide a decision or a rematch, we would have excellent fights. Again, politics and curruption take play in bogus decisions.

Especially if the damn fight was boring as watching paint dry. You want to see it again in different color?

    NO...Hell no...

Let me explain what I meant...Some SD should have an imediate rematch...Ex..Calzaghe vs Hopkins..Even though the fight was rather boring...The fight could have gone either way...

Another that one comes to mind...Berto\Collazo....That fight could have gone either way and it was exciting to watch. Now fights that should have never been declared a draw but was a draw (Martinez\ Cintron) Those are the fights that should be forgotten. Thats why I say it all depends on the Spilt Decsions.:good

the navarro fight was also a sd,mijares would waste alot of months rematching these guys he clearly beat, putting his career on hold while he goes over old ground,so ill say no to the original question, too many poor decisions.

no they shouldn't be mandatory rematches...the only way it should be is if they specify it in the contract
