When he ducked out of their American TV fight ? HOLLYWOOD, FL In another case of shady dealings sullying the great sport of boxing, Seminole Warriors Boxing, promoters of super middleweight contender Edison Miranda, have discovered that former world champion Mikkel Kessler negotiated in bad faith with Team Miranda and Showtime, agreeing to a May bout while at the same time trying to put together a WBA title fight against a fighter he already defeated, Anthony Mundine. And Team Miranda is not taking this lightly. Given the information weve discovered regarding this disgraceful lack of integrity from Kessler and his team, we are seriously considering legal action against them, said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. Edison is losing out on a significant payday and national television exposure because of Kesslers withdrawal from this fight, and we are going to investigate all our options in the coming days. After a lengthy negotiation process, Denmarks Kessler agreed late last month to face Miranda in a May 24th bout to be televised on Showtime. It was a matchup fans deemed to be one of the best super middleweight fights in recent years, but shortly after agreeing to the bout, Kessler withdrew, giving no reason for his withdrawal. As Seminole Warriors Boxing discovered, the reason for Kesslers sudden case of cold feet was that at the same time he was negotiating with Team Miranda and Showtime, he and his team were petitioning the WBA for a title shot against Mundine.
I don't know to much about it, but he is involed in a lawsuit is promoters or mangers, not to sure who. Which is why his been inactive for awhile. This forum post from Boxing scene says he wants to get out of his contract with his promoter due to mis-management, promoter is saying Kessler his 3 more fights under contract http://www.boxing scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251645
I would imagine Kessler's promoter had more to do with that then anything else. It's ludicrous to think Kessler would be in fear of Miranda. Kessler's promotional problems are well documented.
What happened to your lifetime bet? Did you somehow get reincarnated? If so - it only means your previous life was extended. Not a new one.
No reputable promoter wants to deal with Palle because they know what he is like after that. If Warriors had sued, then promoters would be reluctant to deal with them over fears of legal costs if things didn't work out. And for a case that would take years and who knows how much money. Even if they would win, they would lose.
Since reality is different and has since been well documented - yes, they should have sued if they thought they would iwn. Which obviously they didn;t. Kessler's people, however, DID play a different game, but it was to Miranda's advantage. Team Kessler did not want to face Miranda because he was not in top 15 on WBAs ranking and the fight would be difficult to sell in Europe. They therefore approached WBA to try to get Miranda ranked and even ranked so highly that it could be a titlefight or a qualifier - instead of what Miranda had ligned up - a fight for nothing. Kessler wanted Miranda, but wanted the fight to have meaning. Meanwhile Miranda borrowed a few tapes with Kessler, and suddenly he broke off communication saying that Kessler didn't want the fight and quickly signed with Abraham.
That is the biggest line of BS going. When Palle tried his 'reverse' to save face for Kessler, that fight was days from being singed. Literally. You can look up the thread here on ESB with P2K. Only a total moron would believe the Abraham fight took 2 days to put together. But, if that is what you believe.....:deal
if kessler has 3 fights left with that loser manager, then he should fight three cream puffs in three months and get the heck out of it.
Put up a sign at the gym door. Last a round with Mikkel and win $100. That ought to go by quick with a few fights to spare.
