pretty much that is what is going to happen. Floyd will fight at 147 where he doesnt have to drop anything

Was he bigger than Oscar when Floyd fought him? If Floyd can fight Oscar at 154, he can fight Canelo.

Yeah like they used to do back in the day. I would like to go back to that, guys like Chavez would be forced to fight guys their own size.

Yeah, but a big reason why they switched to the day before was because too many boxers were getting injured making the weight on fight day(and I mean seriously,on the night)
I'm guessing the list of serious injuries and casualties have gone down because of this.

    Does he?

The head of SHO's sports division was a former GBP attorney. That's why TR abruptly stopped doing business with them.

  8. Floyd and Pacquaio are no longer relevant.
Pacquaio can not beat anyone at 147 and Floyd can not beat anyone at 154.
    Their time is over.
Floyd will lose to every single top 10 fighter at 154 outside of Cotto(who's not even a real 154LBER anyways)

We can even pick a little known lower top 10 guy like Zaurbek Baysangurov of Russia.

Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Zaurbek Baysangurov

    Key Points:

    Lateral Movement:
Baysangurov is a great mover jabber puncher in that he leans off to the side and constantly applies good pressure against fighters much bigger than Floyd. Floyd has been having issues against fighters that used Lateral movement. James Toney often employed the same Shell defense as Floyd and was beaten by Roy Jones Jr due to the fact that Roy will often move side ways as oppose to straight forward . hence causing Toney to eat punch after punch.

Instead of going straight in a left/right line, Roy will go side to side and often confuse Toney with these tactics. The 5'11 Baysangurov did the exact same thing in his fights against Soro and Miranda.. and will employ it against the much smaller 5'7 Floyd

2- Very Good Big man beats Great little man if there is no styles edge.

Simple rule of boxing applies again and again due to the very good B is >than the great S. Formula without styles edge.

Baysangurov is 5'11 and comes into fights at 172 pounds of solid muscles. Trinidad showed against Whitaker that it don't matter how slick or defensive you are if you meet a very good big.. you will go down. This has been proven again and again per se in capital of if big is elite than big is bigger than small elite. Bowe did it to Holyfield. Lewis did it to Holyfield. Vitali did it do Herbie Hide. Wlad did it to Sultan.

Wladimir used his bigger size to pressure Sultan in their heavyweight contest. Floyd at 154 is just simply too small. Sultan is very similar to Floyd and Baysaangurov fights exactly like Wlad.

    3- Efficiency
Baysangurov is one of the most efficient fighters at 154 today. He will sap your strength while creating his own via leaning on you and holding you in clutches. Much like his HW Counterpart Wladimir Klitschko. Floyd will be clinched again and again. The issue is that Floyd does not have the natural strength to counter act Baysan because Floyd is not a 154 Lber. He is a 140 guy who refuse to fight at 140. What is the most likely scenario is that Baysan willt dominate via a series of clinches and brutal right upper cuts, thus ending the fight at a imtermediate note.

    4- The Jab

Miguel Cotto's jab was landing at will against Floyd

This version of Floyd is on his way to being shot due to inactivity and the prison stretch. He no longer have the speed and movement to get out of the way of jabs. What we have in baysan is a 5'11 170 pound 28 years old in his full prime jabber-mover-puncher who will hit Floyd with multiple angles and will slowly break him down. Just like Wladimir, he will soften you up with the jab and hit you with the big right hand. Another fighter Baysan is compared to is Larry Holmes .. if you watch Holmes vs Cooney

despite Cooney's defense.. he had no answers for Holmes jabs.. which led to repeat right hands.
Floyd never had the chin Cooney had. and would probably be knocked out taking too much of the right hand power. Baysan will most likely end the fight late due to an accumulation of punches leading into a big right hand.
    I see no other outcome.

Pacquiao Margarito was 17lb weight difference on fight night.
20lb is maximum difference - reality is Floyd can impose a fight night limit if needed - his fight night weight against Cotto was unknown, but it was probably more like 153/154...if Canelo comes in at 168/170 then the difference isn't huge

Stop taking the very lightest Floyd weighs and the very heaviest Canelo weighs and using that as a basis to justify a blatant duck. Floyd is the 154 champion, claims he's the best. End of story

    Because he doesn't have a belt at 160 and isn't ranked #1 at 160.

I think Floyd should just fight Canelo sept. Canelo should just wait to pick his opponent, because if he chooses Cotto now we wont get the Floyd fight until next year. Maybe never.

His fight night weight was known. You're just an idiot. It was posted earlier in this very ****ing thread. He weighed 151 or 152, I forget which.

floyd is a midget , let him stick to cherry picking 154 pound guys to defend his title against, not ones that actually have a chance. maybe he should fight a real welterweight next too
