Bautista IS a kid. If he was allowed to fight after the 2nd KD, I know he's got enough balls to still fight on pure instict, and De Leon's gonna tee off on him hard.

If that happens, his promising career's gonna get ruined.

Its not the 1930s anymore. Today, we care more about a fighter's safety and well being. Lets let him fight another day.

After the first knockdown, he was on wobbly legs, but he deserved the chance to try and make it out of the round. He showed heart getting back up, but he was knocked down again, and the ref stopped it at, what I thought, was the right moment. I don't think it should have been stopped after the 1st knockdown. But after the 2nd, he is a young guy and should take a lesson from this and live to fight another day.

I don't think he should have been matched with Deleon in the first place.

I think it was good as it was. It should not been stopped earlier.

I think Bautista was rushed into an titlefight to fast. Not everyone can be champion with 20 years like Tyson, only all time greats can do that.
But i think Leon is just a verry good fighter, a verry STRONG fighter.

One thing I notice about Bautista, he easily get disturbed when being pressed or hurt. Anyway he is still young, he has a lot to learn and must take this lose a lesson.

Perfect stoppage imo , anytime before that would have been premature .
There was no need to let him continue after the second knockdown though as it was clear the fight was done .

Ponce knew he had to go at Bautista from the start and not let the kid get into a rythem and start outboxing De Leon , and he executed his plan perfectly . He was looking to finish Bautista from the start but he didn't go in throwing wild hooks , he was throwing lots of very powerful 1-2's which were mainly off target but when one of them landed flush that was it . 2 hard straight lefts after boom boom gets up and De Leon shows that even the Super Bantamweight champion regarded as the weakest is very formidable .

Perfect stoppage, but it was surely over when that kid's fragile chin was tapped proper.

I think he should of been stopped after the second KD, but I thought he should of been given the chance to stand back up like a fighter, and have the ref look him in the eyes and say no more. That is the right way to stop it, but the ref bounced and waved it off AS SOON AS HE WENT DOWN.

No more damage would of been done, but he could of let Bautista show his heart to his fans one more time, I feel that rob fighters of that way too often. Give them a chance to beat the count, or give the fighter who knocked down the other guy to have a legit 10 count KO.

We hardly ever get 10 count KO's anymore unless it's a bodyshot, as they never let the count get that far, they are always waving it off.

It's a minor gripe though, but I feel the boxers deserve the right to stand back up like a man, and if they can't, they can't.

I think it was fine to let him go on. He is young fighter, he hadn't taken a sustained beating, and it was just the first round. He deserved a chance to try to fight his way back.
