It's my opinion that the Heavy Weight division should be limited to 245-250lbs. This Division is the only division in boxing that does not require you to " Make Weight". This will do two things:

    1) Will keep these Heavyweights Disciplined and professional and will level the playing field amongst Heavyweights.

    2) This will make the Heavyweight fights more entertaining. Its known that the era of Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield and all the other contenders of that era had action packed fights because they were in shape. Not hugging the entire time because they were overweight. The old Heavies would be drama from start to finish because any one punch from these Bohemoth's would end the night. Now, if their isn't a knockout within the first 3-4 rounds for the most part its a hugging match. This has to end and I feel a weight limit would ensure this 245-250lbs tops. Thoughts:think

A guy like Valuev wouldn't be able to box in that case.

What about the mighty SNV, can you really expect a 7 foot tall giant to cut down to 250lbs?
Could we make special exceptions for the GOAT?

History has clearly shown a 200lbs fighter can knock anybody out, no matter their size. You have to remember guys like Tyson had a best fighting weight of 220lbs, Joe Frazier and Sonny Liston 210lbs, I don't think there is any doubt they have the punching power to take care of anybody. The only rule that needs to be enforced is clinching which does get larger oppenents an unfair advantage and is illegal anyways.

Good point. But thats one fighter, one rare fighter. How many years you think he has left anyway? what about the rest of the division. Truthfully, if we had a weightlimit their would not be a need for the cruiserweight division.

I disagree I dont think its fair we pay money and are charged for fat pigs to be held to different standards. These fatties dont have to make a weight. We live in a society where people are heavier, because their are so many places to stuff your face. A weight limit of 250lb would ensure responsibility.

I think creating a superheavyweight division would be a better idea than limiting the weight a heavy can fight at. Like robney said, someone lilke Valuev wouldnt be able to fight in that case

It is absurd to think klitschko can fight a roy jones jr size HW. Or an adamek.

Absolutely not. The heavyweight division is the most prestigious division in boxing and the title, is the biggest in sport. You can't dilute it, just because of big fighters.

Skill will always override size, anyway. Haye and Adamek are proving that, Holyfield did prove it and Cunningham could.

is practically shot now compared to his invincible prime, but even though I want him to retire, Sugar should not be forced to by some rule change. As for the rest of the division, problem is that many boxers are still visibly overweight at 250lbs, for instance Arreola and Solis, so the limit will only stop fighters like those from being morbidly obese. In truth i'm against a weight limit in the heavyweight division or a superheavy division being made, size is overrated.

it should be limited to about 340-350 max, that way those who are tall and rule like SNV would still be able to compete and fat ****s like Gabe Brown who have no business being boxers can gtfo.

so you think size alone will beat wladimir, frazier or tyson or even a prime Holyfield would've handled Wladimir.

I'm trying to make sure it stays pure Jack. This division needs a overhaul andf the weight limit believe me would do that. These Fatties would be forced to come to fight in shape because they would be weighed.
