should they be in a isolated room, watching( no audio) the tv broadcast? would this give them better angles?
I'd be down IF say the judges are asked to watch the same fight after the fact in an isolated environment & then release their scorecards to compare to the live ones. (Do that **** HBO or SHO... I won't even charge you for the idea)
Judges should be appointed by an impartial commission, and paid a small portion of the fightpurse. I'm pretty sure that reduces more "weird" scores as giving them a better view in any way.
I think that judges should watch the fight from a directly vertical vantage point, basically a glass box suspended above the ring with the judges looking straight down at it. I really think a directly vertical vantage point is the best way to see everything in boxing from a judging standpoint. If you're just a spectator though, side views will do fine.
A lot is missed on TV. I've read a number of times that you thought Oscar beat Shane in their first fight if you watched on TV and Shane won if you were ringside. The most interesting idea for altering how judges view fights is this: http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/175657-from-the-pages-of-the-ring-magazine-a-new-perspective
Excellent idea. I say they should watch it tape delayed with Kellerman commentary and Lederman scorecards. Better yet, they should read IB RBR.
