    Sturm + Whitaker

    vs.

    Mosley + Trinidad.

Quartey isn't questionable in my view, given that Oscar nearly stopped him in the last round, including a knockdown. The fight was up for grabs and Oscar stood up when it mattered.

I think he definitely beat Mosley and Trinidad, he lost to Sturm (though I've only watched it once) and Whitaker is tough to score, could've gone either way.

Quartey was questionable as hell! For DLH to win, you have to very nice to him on the cards.

You have to be generous to have DLH ahead 3-2 after five. Quartey clearly won the 6th when both guys went down, as he controlled the round after the KDs. For the next 3 rounds, DLH did basically nothing. Ike didn't do a whole lot either, but still, definitely more than DLH. That's 6-3 for Ike after 9. You have to give DLH the last 3 rounds for him to win, and giving him round 11 is a stretch. I think it was Merchant who said in the 11th, "DLH is not doing much this round", then DLH had Ike on the ropes but all of his combo was blocked. That's not enough for him to win the round on my card. So DLH has to win this round to win the fight, and this is even after giving DLH the benefit of the doubt by having him ahead 3-2 after 5.

It's strange how DLH's controversial decisions such as Whitaker, Balco Mosley 2, and Trinidad are always mentioned, but this one seems to be the "least" controversial of them (I left out Sturm, that was an obvious win for Sturm), even though the Quartey bout was pretty easy to score.

I guess it shows you how a great 12th round can make people forget about the rest of the fight. Hell, people often call it a great fight because of this and the 6th round, despite the lack of action in the other 10.

What six rounds did DLH clearly win?

He did **** all for most of the fight. Considerably less than Quartey for most of the fight, which is saying something.

I have no idea what 6 rounds I gave him, I haven't seen the fight for a fair while. But I know that every time I've watched it I scored it for Oscar. A great 12th round doesn't affect the judges, given that they score the fight progressively. But then again, judges are generally terrible, just look at the Trinidad fight... :patsch

A great 12th round makes people forget how much of the fight was slow, and how much DLH spent doing nothing.

Ken Morita was a disgrace that night. Quartey could've won the 12th on his scorecard and still lost the fight.

He should've had his license revoked when he had Tyson beating Douglas after nine rounds.

The DLH-Trinidad fight was closer than often talked about, but I still had DLH ahead.

After the KD in the 12th DLH was gassed and hardly did **** till the final bell. Neither did Quartey so I guess it doesn't matter.

Voted B. When else have they changed a win to a DQ or loss? Just because it was close and people say they had DLH winning anyway shouldn't change the scorecards from that night.

What happened to all the posts that were deleted in this thread?

    Anyway, again, I say "B".

Mosley shouldn't be judges more harshly than the other fighters who got caught juicing. Guys like Toney had their wins changed to no-contests.

After the knockdown they went to war on the ropes, and Oscar was strafing him with left hooks... landing flush! Quartey was still firing back (seemingly out of instinct), which is why it wasn't stopped. But then with around 1.30 left Oscar gassed.

There is no need to be generous to have Oscar 3-2 after 5 rounds. Oscar won rounds 1 and 3 clearly. Quartey won rounds 2 and 5. Round 4 was close. Quartey fired more punches but DLH outlanded him ( 12-8 ). Lederman had Quartey winning the fight but gave DLH the 4th round.
Round 6 was close but Quartey won as well as rounds 7, 8 and 9.
Oscar came back in the tenth and won it.
The eleventh was very close. Quartey was firing more punches but he was hitting the air at most and many other punches of him were blocked. DLH didn't do much but but landed more than Quartey and harder shots.
I can easily see DLH winning rounds 1,2,4,10,11 and 12.

Round 1 was close. Quartey landed some jabs, which as Merchant said, left a mark on DLH's face. DLH threw some nice combos but most of them were caught by Quartey's elbows and gloves.

Round 3 was a clear DLH round? Quartey landed the best shots in that round. He landed some very nice short left hands at the end of the round that knocked DLH back. That was better work than the right hand counter than DLH landed over Ike's jab earlier in the round.

I don't see where Quartey landed the best shots in the third. Most of his jabs were blocked or hit the air. Rounds 1 and 3 were close but they were clear for DLH, IMO. Both Ledderman and Merchant, who had Quartey winning the fight, scored rounds 1 and 3 for DLH.

Looks to me like he admits to taking EPO and shooting himself up.

    E on the calendar. Lol.

Mosley just lost a lot of respect from the boxing world.

I had lost respect for him a while back. But I still held and hold a small bit of respect for his LW days.

No there should not be a DQ you just change it to a NC. Wont happen though its been well over 5 years since that fight.
