For once we got Golovkin wih a lesser chance of winning. People ive spoken to in the game reckon its at least a 50/50, possibly a 60/40 for Jacobs

So would you agree the winner of this 50/50 should be FOTY?

it is way too soon to even suggest IMO. And it'll depend what the winner does in the 2nd half of 2017.

I doubt it because Golovkin has his haters who will dismiss Jacobs if Golovkin beats him.
I'd say it's more 60/40 in favour of GGG

the fight has to be had before calling it the fight of the year dontcha think? It could turn out to be a real stinker unless GGG gets KOd or something. But I think the KO will happen to Jacobs by the mid rounds.

You can't win fighter of the year in March. If GGG loses to Canelo or fights two no-hopers later in the year he sure won't be fighter of the year. GGG does have a good start to a schedule that could garner him fighter of the year of course. If he beats Jacobs in March and Canelo in September plus another decent middleweight that's a year that would be awfully hard to surpass. It would take take say Kovalev or Ward winning the rematch then beating Beterbiev or Chocolatito beating Cuadras and Inoue to top it.
