Serious question I mean people were talking **** about Ruiz saying there should be one with the style he fights, this was Mainly HBO who started that idea, but in recent Hatton and W Klitschko fights I think it would serve HBO well to have a clinch stat what do you all think?

Ruiz holds the record, in his fight with Golota he had more clinches than landed punches

Good point but running isnt a foul holding is, to be honest with you a fighter should only hold if he is in trouble not hold just to wear your opponent down your fist are supposed to do that.

It'd be interesting to see which had most clinches:
    Wlad - Peter
    Hatton - Urango
    Ruiz - Golota

Wlad Peter had 91 clinches over 12 rounds. That's about 8 clinches per round.

    I counted Tyson-Holyfield I a few weeks ago - 14 to 15 clinches a round. :yikes
That's almost TWICE as much as Wlad-Peter.

There are different reasons for clinching. It's up to the ref to stop excessive clinching.

someone needs to do a clinch stat and put it up as an article. ever since guys like hatton and wladimir arrived lots of whiners have come out of the woodwork :deal

you might not like the stats if someone does take the time to compare some old fights with the new fights.

someone is grasping at straws methinks :yep
