Should there be a trilogy?

There is nothing wrong with Usyk and Fury facing each other again next year but it should not be Usyk's next fight. And probably Fury should fight someone else in the meantime too.

If these men are still claiming to be the best two heavyweights in the world they should be stepping in the ring with relevant contenders to prove it. Any of the winners of upcoming Dubois-Parker, Kabayel-Zhang or the potential Bakole-Ajagba fight, deserve a shot against Usyk.

I can't believe how much of a pass people are willing to extend to Fury, rating him so highly for losing well against Usyk and beating no one of note in years.
Usyk himself has seemed to build his reputation at heavyweight beating Joshua twice and Fury twice, but actually Dubois is the only man he faced who has bounced back with the best wins!

Boxing fans take it too easy on ageing champs who fight once or twice a year against other ageing rivals. The real mark of a great champion is fighting the dangerous contenders, the ones who are winning the top elimination fights.

It seems to me a whole generation of heavyweights are in danger of being frozen out if this Fury/Joshua/ Usyk senior circuit goes any further.

At Wembley with old Fish Eyes choosing the referee and the three judges, it will be anything but fair.

It's over - Usyk won twice.

There's nothing controversial, although Fish Eyes and Belly have been sore losers.

100% no. Fury needs to move on and enjoy his big money cash out fight for this era’s wooden spoon with Joshua.

Usyk can cement the legacy with a 2 x undisputed championship against the winner or Dubois and Parker.

That’s all that’s needed to put a full stop on this generation.

No need at all for a trilogy fight. There wasn't really much need for a second one IMO.
The 'controvesy ' is manufactured by Fury, his team and his supporters.

Yeah that wouldn't be fair. English boxing is among the most corrupt in the world. Fury would probably be up 2-0 fighting in England.

If Usyk decides to fight Fury again he dictates the terms. As a pure fan I think he did well enough to where a 3rd fight wouldn't be egregious down the road, but on the other the hand the lack class shown post fight leaves a bad taste. The ball is in Usyks court ultimately. I think the wise move would be to probably retire, but he might fight the Dubois/Parker winner and have a trilogy with AJ/Fury winner when all is said and done if I had to guess.

There did not even need to be a second fight.

Enough with the rematches! This isn't WWE where the guys get in the ring twice a week. Fighters barely even fight twice a year these days. Rematches holding up everything for nearly 1-2 years. Ugh.

It really comes down to which fight Usyk and his team feel could make them the most $$. Can Fury still fill, for example, Wembley (or PPV dance cards) more assuredly than Dubois? If the answer to that is "yes," Uncle Frank will happily promote a trilogy and will figure out some way to keep Dubois happy in the meantime.

Usyk would love to fight Fury and AJ for the 3rd time. Fighting these monsters mean another $100M paycheck.

The verdict appears virtually unanimous and I agree - no need for a rubber match. Usyk is a clear 2-0 up and Fury doesn’t actually deserve a 3rd match.

Over 2 fights Fury optioned most if not all the available physical conditionings and strategies that many of his fans thought would see him to victory - Usyk knocked all those options over as and when they were presented.

Usyk has consummately proven his superiority over Fury.

    No way

Uysk should bow out on time right now

    Gives his legacy more substance

If he carries on he risks losing to somebody that was never really on his level
