The fight is 6 weeks out and Clottey's trainer is unable to enter the USA. Clottey could set up camp in Ghana but if his trainer is unable to be in his corner on March 13th, that's extremely unfair.
It is indeed unfortunate this happened to Clottey but I don't think either camps would agree to a postponement.
I hope Clottey does well but he has to deal with it! If he postpones this fight he will never get another chance and everyone will hate him. I thought this might happen and if people claim this is a disadvantage to him some people on ESB will sh1t all over them!
There is no postponing this fight as Pac can not fight April and early May. Either it takes place or cancel all together, and Pac rather wait for the winner of Shane-Floyd.
there's a lot of powerful people involved in this fight that can get him a visa if not he can get another trainer in his corner for the fight.. the main work is done in camp
If I was Clottey I would call Arums bluff and say I will pull out unless my trainer gets his visa sorted. There is too much money riding on this, I dont think Clottey should be at a disadvantage for this fight!
People involved in this fight are not that powerful when it involves the State dept. and the Justice dept.
If it was the other way around then the fight would be postponed straight away and rightly so. It won't be though and makes the fight even more unappealing.
I feel bad for Clottey because he has absolutely no leverage in this fight. He can't hit Arum with a threat to pull out because he can be replaced by guys like Quintana, Collazo, and 90% of the other guys fighting around 147 who would take this fight on short notice. March 13 is set in stone as an event completely revolved around Pac. No one in the general public really cares who his opponent is, as long as it's a guy bigger than him and with a good record.
it is unfair but if he can get in this week , he may get away with it ouher wise clottey has no chnce
