Tyson Fury fails drug test - more details
It has been widely reported Fury tested positive for cocaine, with ESPN saying the positive test came after he gave a urine sample on 22 September.

Should he be stripped of his heavyweight titles? How will this affect his career and legacy?

Stripped and banned. Never to return in a professional square ring.

He can come and do my drive instead

Not for having cocaine in his system.
Loads of great fighters have admitted to using cocaine in the midsts of their careers. It is virtually a tradition for heavyweights.
And everyone uses PEDs too, most likely, so none of the drug stuff he's done is a big deal.

Fury's only crime is inactivity. All these threats and bans don't help.
He needs to fight or retire.
Until he retires or is defeated in a boxing match he's the champion of the world anyway.

What a complete and total lack of honesty and more so responsibility for someones actions. I'd be embarrassed if I wrote something so tone deaf.

what are you talking about?
I don't think he should be "banned" from his profession or forfeit his position simply for using cocaine. Loads of people use cocaine.
I don't condone nor condemn it. Just don't see why people want to 'ban' someone from their job for having sniffed some coke.
I value freedom in society, but understand how rare that is nowadays.

More of a combination of steroid and cocaine abuse, not even trying to separate his private life from his professional life. You obviously know of that, I don't know why you'd insult your own intelligence by acting as if the steroid situation hadn't occured. He's jerking around other fighters careers and by extension their livelihood. A legitimate ATG has been getting strung along, specifically.

Tyson Fury is an ass who's been surrounded by enablers for years. You sound like you'd be comfortable among them.

As far as I know, the steroid thing hasn't been settled yet. As far as I know, he's already served some time suspended for that alleged offence anyway. PEDs is a controversial subject, a debatable one. I'm not the only one who thinks most top athletes take PEDs at some time or another.

If he used steroids before the Hammer fight it's highly debatable whether he should be stripped for the titles he won from Wlad over 9 months later (and tested clean for).

Tyson Fury may seem like a disaster through the distorted prism of the media and the internet but if you take a sober objective look at the facts we have as of today, he's not that far off the norm. He may have used steroids before a previous fight. He might sniff coke more recently. He talks rubbish, and sometimes offends. He's probably a depressive. So far, that's it.

He does, of course, need to decide whether he wants to fight or remain inactive though. If he doesn't want to fight he should announce his retirement.

You sound very knee-jerk about the whole thing.

No, Tyson's series of mistakes has been consistent and well documented. There's nothing to jerk a knee about, it's been systematic and there's really no legitimate defense for his behavior at this point.

Yes. Not just for testing positive on Cocaine by VADA, but for testing positive on Nandrolone and refusing a test by UKAD and not being able to fight for quite a while by his own doing.
It has become a triple treat now.

That's disregarding him refusing to validate his fight ruining claim of mental health with any kind of medical documentation or proof, and refusing another test entirely.

I'd have a lot more respect for your 'everyone else is cheating anyway' attitude if the Furys weren't the most big mouthed hypocrites in boxing about it.

They've spent months accusing others, spouting their holier than thou BS when they knew that they were at least as guilty as those they were accusing.

They're a disgrace to boxing. It's a shame Tyson has ducked this rematch/other solid contenders in such embarrassing fashion, they've made a mockery of the entire sport.

Things such as logic and responsibility seem lost on most Fury fans.
