Should Tyson Fury be stripped of the WBC title for refusing to fight a contender?

There is only 1 real way to engage him, don't. Whyte smartly chose this option. The worst thing you can do is try to intimidate him or even worse talk rajness.

As much as this is true, Wilder avoided fighting genuine contenders for most of his 5 year reign... they're not going to strip Fury on that basis.

champions should defend their belt against the next top person as outlined in the of the respective sanctioning bodies regulations. if the fighter fails to meet the obligation then that person should be stripped of the title. the vacant title should then be fought for by persons who meet the qualifications outlined in the policy of the sanctioning body. the original title holder can then get in line to fight for a chance at the title again.
